PEOPLE I AM SORRY TO SAY MKG WILL BE A HUGE BUST AT #2 IF HE DOES NOT LEARN HOW TO SHOOT. I LOVE HIS MOTOR AND HEART, BUT AT 6'6 OR 6'7 WITH NO JUMP SHOT HE WILL NOT MAKE IT PEOPLE. JONES WILL BE A VERY GOOD PLAYER IN THE NBA, AND A GREAT PLAYER IF HE GETS BETTER WITH THE RIGHT HAND.

Is that your bread and butter opinion or what? If your not sure what to post is that your go to post? Jesus Christ we all know by now thats what you think because you yell it from the rooftops anytime his name is mentioned. fingergun

Not saying MKG is going to be the next Jordan, but a lot of people questioned Jordan's shot coming out of college

“He was a tremendous athlete with a strong body that looked like it was going to get better,” said Thorn. “He was competitive, and a fair shooter. Good ball handler, though not a great one at that time, but a good one, and a good defensive player. His shooting was what we were concerned with. We didn’t know what kind of shooter he was going to turn out to be.”

Guys with that kind of attitude find a way. . . .

This! MKG will be a star. And he'll be in the league forever. He's only 18 years old. He's so far ahead of his age mentally that its unbelievable. He'll be a great defender. No many guys that can defend like him also have Elite talent. Bottom line he's an absolute stud. And I agree he'll find a way. And I really wish people would quit calling him 6'6. I looked back at his measurements from the Nike Hoops Summit last year. They had him listed as 6'7.5 with shoes and the last time I checked they don't play barefoot.

  • People that say MKG or Thomas Robinson will be a bust is laughable at best. Those two have the most heart of anyone in the draft and they will overcome. Period. They have the talent and will too.

    Busts:
    Tyler Zeller
    Jared Sullinger
    John Henson

    Surprise:
    Darius Miller

Royce White is overcoming his issue of flying. They talked about that during the game. He's a phenomenal athlete. I think he will have a solid, not great NBA career.

    Busts: Tyler Zeller

    Wrong.

Actually, I'd say Tyler Zeller is about as safe a bet pound for pound in this draft.

He's an athletic 7-footer that can run the floor in a league where quality big men are at an all time low.

He's white. He has to be a bust. (sarcasm)

  • First of all, you can't be considered a potential bust if you're projected as a second round pick. Most second round picks probably won't pan out in the first place.

    – Normally, I am against drafting big, American white guys. In a typical year, I would't touch them with a 10-foot pole. But I'm willing to waive that for the aforementioned Zeller and Illinois' Meyers Leonard.

    – Guys that could potentially struggle in the league because of physical limitations: Jared Sullinger, Harrison Barnes, John Henson

    – Guys that could potentially struggle because of mental limitations/work ethic, etc: Perry Jones III, Andre Drummond

  • We'll see. He and Jared Sullinger are soft. Specifically Sullinger.

  • Zeller is a more skilled Hansborough without the crazy motor. hansborough is making a big impact on a very good team in indiana...

I always worry about the soft guys....

With Zeller I see him as basically the same player Mad Dog (Hansbrough) was. Except Mad Dog was hard as nails (albiet a couple inches shorter). He hasn't really been much of a player in the league. He is a sub for an alright team averaging around 9 and 4. Both are projected to be picked at about the same spot (late lottery).

While it is true the league has a derth of big men at the moment. Zeller doesn't have the body of or skill set of an NBA true center. While he is skilled offensively, in the league you have to protect the rim, defend the low post, and rebound. Offensive skill comes fourth on the list of desireable center attributes. Zeller is going to suck at protecting the rim, defending the post, and rebounding, thus his offense will be off-set (he's not very fluid with the ball either but does have a nice 17 ft jumper). He is also a four year player so he is closer to reaching his potential and full maturity so their isn't a lot of upside there either.

I actually like Henson better as a prospect because he is fluid enough to play on the wing and his length will allow him to guard a little bit (but I don't like either of them to do much, just think Henson will be better).

I think Sullinger is going to be a disater in the league. Short, slow, not overly athletic, and doesn't work hard enough. Reciepe for disaster in the league. How many guys like this have we seen go to the league never to be heard from again??? He should be a four year player, but his high school reputation and effectiveness in the unathletic Big Ten have given him a self inflated opinion of himself. He is too small and soft to play down low and too unathletic to play on the wing. I hope he enjoys his rookie contract because that's going to be about all he gets. I think Blair from Pitt was a better prospect and he never came close to making an impact.

    That's my take.

  • i love zellers game he is very much a pau gasol type imo i hate north carolina but he was one constant for them. i would be shocked if he isnt a 15 8 guy at the next level. the reason defense and reb are more important in the nba right now is the lack of offensively skilled big men not b/c team want those two more than points lol.

I think the difference between the two is Gasol is very fluid, and Zeller is not. However, if you're half the player Gasol is then you're still very good.

It will be interesting to watch this class as they move forward. I get the feeling this class will end up with a lot of guys drafted in similiar positions to Rondo and Cole making larger impacts than lottery guys. Should be fun to look back in 5-10 years.

You guys are selling Tyler Zeller way short. I'm usually very skeptical of American white 7-footers but Zeller isn't your typical big stiff.

Runs the floor as well as any 7-footer you're going to find and has a very refined post game and can pick and pop and shoot the 18 foot jumpshot.

Also very athletic. I'd use a lottery pick on him. To think Henson will be better is laughable. Henson is a poor man's version of Ed Davis a couple years ago.

  • Henson has no shot in my opinion. He's not fit for the NBA.
