NBA Finals: Who ya got?

  • Chris Fisher said...

I'll be honest. I can't stand the Heat. I can't stand Lebron and even more so, I can't stand Dwyane Wade.

That being said, there are plenty of Lebron haters out there. Unlike most of them, just because I don't like him doesn't mean that I don't think he's not an all-time great player and special talent. Just like people love to love Tim Tebow, they love to hate Lebron but the guy is unreal.

He's definitely made some mistakes and has come off as very unlikeable at times but that has no bearing on his talent.

Just not a big fan of myself.

OKC will win in 7. The NBA and Stern will make sure this baby goes 7 games as it's hyped to be the most anticipated series in 15 years and has some of the top players in the NBA today with Durant, LBJ, and Wade being top 5

Just think the road team can get into more of a groove with 3 consecutive home games.

Not a huge advantage in the 2-3-2 format but an advantage nonetheless IMO.

At the same time its hard to win 3 home games in a row against a team thats in the finals.

  • Game 3 Kevin Durant with 4 early fouls yet again while James doesn't get his 1st foul until the 2nd half.... They give KD his 4th when the Thunder start pulling away, coincidence? I don't think so!

I hate the Cheat and hope they never win a title.

    GO THUNDER!

  • Kevin Durant can't get a call while if you look at LBJ or Wade you get a whistle on you... I so loathe the Heat...

Been noticing the same thing. KD got fouled at the end of game 2 with no call. Can't stand the freakin Heat.

  • The Heat setting illegal picks all night long too. The fix is in.

That said, if the Thunder hit their FT's they would be ahead.

  • James throwing elbows and extending his arm yet he gets away with it and Hardin is called for the foul...

  • I'm going to call it now and say the Thunder win game 4 in Miami by 12+

KD did get fouled at the end of that game....but...he also got away with a charge on Battier minutes before that would have been his 6th. Just sayin.

Superstars get calls...MJ anyone? The reason LBJ has received more calls than KD is that James attacks the rim and KD is a shooter. I get frustrated sometimes watching KD because he doesn't drive nearly enough. It seems like every time he attacks the rim its a dunk (with his freakish long arms) or that floater which is lethal...again due to his freaky long arms. Lol.

KD is still learning just how dominant a scorer he could be. Westbrook shoots too much imo. I've said before that KD has the potential to retire the NBA's all time scoring leader but Westbrook really hurts them at times. Love him or hate him, James has been an absolute beast. In no way can anyone seriously criticize his play thus far in the playoffs.

The finals have been fantastic so far

  • when he attacks the rim he gets hacked to death. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre had less chopping than the Heat have made on Durant! He knows he won't get the call.

I loathed Jordan for the same reasons--getting the benefit of the whistle in EVERY instance. Even Magic Johnson commented on not getting close to Jordan for fear of getting a foul call--and that was during a photo shoot. lol. It sucks when both Wade and Lebron get the whistle while Durant and the Thunder don't.

  • Wade gets babied by the refs more than maybe any other player in the league.

NBA infamous for "superstar" calls. Not sure the Heat win their first title in 06 without Wade going to the line about 100 times in that series.

  • I liked it when Jordan got the superstar calls, Kobe as well but now that its Lebron I can't stand it. lol.

Doesn't look like its going 7 games so much, at least not historically anyway. I love OKC's "too young to know better" style but to the surprise of most everyone Miami has been the better team.

Against the Spurs the Thunder had major contribution from Ibaka, Perkins, Hardin, Sephalosha, Collinson...a team effort. Miami has been able to basically make it 2 on 5. Imo the Thunder look like the Heat did last year.
They may indeed be the better team, but there not playing the best team ball. I have a feeling we could see a couple more Thunder/Heat finals down the road.

I have to say, that love him or hate him, James has finally been the James everyone has wanted or criticized for not showing up before. Color me impressed.

  • This is probably just stupid but I don't think this series is over. Think it will still go 7.

Teams trailing 3-1 in the NBA Finals are 0-30 all-time but I'm with you.

If they can just get it back to OKC, anything can happen. Huge homecourt advantage and every game has been close.

I wonder how many times a game 7 has been forced when a team goes down 3-1 in the finals.

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure Seattle was down 3-0 to Chicago in 1996 and won 2 before dropping Game 6.

Bill Simmons says he thinks that was the best team that challenged the Bulls dynasty.

Since the 2-3-2 format...never. In the last 13 years teams down 3-1 have lost 6 times in game 5 and 7 times in game 6.

Interesting. I figured it would be hard for the Heat to win 3 games in a row at home. If that holds true then the series goes back to OKC. Its possible just like most things. It would take a hell of an effort though from the thunder and a little choke job for the Heat. I'm hoping for that. I tell ya what though Lebron has looked like a man on a mission in this series.

Yeah he has. I've watched every game waiting to see him disappear....it ain't happening. I don't know if it will again. He's gonna get that ring his year...could be witnessing the real birth of LeBron James...that's a scary thought.

No joke.. I don't think he's going to be deterred. That said, I'm still rooting for OKC.

    Keep Calm & Stoops On..

  • OKC has great talent, but they're young. Miami's experience is winning this series.

He's had a calmness about him with the media that I haven't seen before either. No joking or BS this year.
