NBA Finals: Who ya got?

  • tWhit said...

He's had a calmness about him with the media that I haven't seen before either. No joking or BS this year.

Can you imagine what kind of player he would be if he gets that first ring and develops that crazy insane desire to win and get more rings like a Kobe or MJ????

    Holy shit that's scary

I think LeBron is more like Vince Carter than Kobe or Jordan. I dont think he has the nasty streak of the latter. He's a pampered baby who plays above the rim. When his legs lose spring, he's done.

That's why he took his talents to So Beach.

Yeah but he doesn't even have that first ring YET. The scenario is entirely possible though. He's the most physically gifted true basketball player to maybe ever play the game. So yeah that is scary.

  • I still think this thing might wind up going 7. All of these games except the OKC cozy win in Game 1 have been thisclose late in the fourth quarter. Would love to see the Thunder rise up and steal Game 5. A series this good shouldn't stop at 5.

I agree with how goose the series has been. His is he first time on a long time that i really didn't care who won as long as the series is good and his has been a really goose series imo. Gotta love the young Thunder team. They have to find a way to hold on to Hardin (big no show in the finals) and Ibaka....if they do then this will not be their last finals. Could see the Thunder/Heat a few more times. As for the heat, i wanna see LeBron get that ring, just to see what the criticism will be then.

Can you ever recall a player of his level in any spor so hated or wanted to see fail by so many? It boggles my mind. Vick....disgusting what he did to animals...second chance. Tiger woods...terrible Kobe of a family man...people say golf and golf fans NEED him to win. LBJ...has done nothing wrong save poor judgement with his decision to leave (although it raised money for kids AND he was approached about doing the special) a shithole town that he gave SEVEN years of his career to trying to bring them a ring. He's completely unselfish on the court. He's even ripped about not shooting enough of not tabig the last shot. Yet the poor bastard is hated...Idk???

Anyway, no team in the 2-3-2 format has ever seen game 7. OKC im afraid won't either. But i agree its a shame. Would love to see a game 7

  • It's easy for James to be comfortable when he gets the benefit of the whistle and can hack Durant with impunity. He knows late in the game he can foul multiple times and not get called while Durant or the Thunder breath on the Heat late and a whistle is quickly blown.

The fix is in and I decided after game 3 not to watch this charade anymore.

The saving salvo to all this is that Pat Riley will get another ring as GM.

  • Here's a question for you conspiracy theorists: does the NBA want this thing to end in 5? stir

  • I think the NBA wants it to go 7 games but they know that it could backfire on t hem so I won't be surpised to see it end in 5 or 6. The longer they let it play out and the more obvious missed/bad calls that go against the Thunder the more they are exposed.

Perhaps, it's not the nba but rather some of the officials as they clearly are not immune to controversy and having a cheating ref betting on games... see Tim Donaghy(sp)... Do you really believe he was or is the only official to do such?

  • Did not hear this until today, but Juwan Howard is the first member of the Fab Five to win a championship of any kind in college (obviously) or the pros. Amazing to think that after all the hype back in the day.

Very true Jeff, but their impact was historic. Love em or hate em, they changed the game.

No doubt. Just hard to believe that, until last night, none of those studs had a ring.

  • I heard that last night or early this morning too Jeff. Amazing that they never had a ring and truthfully Howard didn't deserve this one considering he never played. lol

Didn't John Salley win a couple of rings the same way?

    Truly amazing stat.

No questioning the cultural impact the Fab 5 had but also hard not to say they were overrated.

Are you trying to dis my boy "Swoop"? Don't dis Swoop! He was a member of the "Bad Boys" and deserved his rings! Granted, he managed the bench player roll and got a couple more with the Bulls and Lakes but he earned his first two with the Pistons!
