New Video Boards (UPDATED W/ VIDEO - Courtesy of TGH3316)

One word... Awesome. I wish I had taken a video as well, the sound/video combination down on the field sounded incredible. I can't wait to see the atmosphere when UofL comes to town. I really don't think most people will understand how big an upgrade to CWS this is until they get to experience it. Kudos to UKathletics for this one.

Exactly what I've been saying. Don't think people fully realize how much this is going to change the atmosphere at CWS.

This is more than just the boards too. It will improve the morale and audio levels of the fans too. Definitely brings more hype.

Yes, nothing really newsworthy. The video board demonstration was (imo) the highlight of a great evening (weather was perfect). It was just one of the boards and none of the ribbon boards. When they get all of those going and with the new sound I think most people are going to be blown away at the difference.

so is the audio upgrade done or not yet? I assumed that the speakers might be throughout CWS. Are they going to be integrated with the new boards only?

Total guess would be yes. It sounded great last night, but the place was empty so can't be sure.

If I hear somebody complain about it being too loud, they should be thrown out and over the top of the stadium.

I don't think fans really realize how badass these things look and most importantly sound. The sound system is unbelievable and sounds crystal clear. The stadium is going to have a TOTALLY different feel this year with the 2 new boards, sounds system, and 360 degree ribbon boards wrapping the stadium. It all looks awesome! Major kudos to Mitch Barnhart for a job well done. Enjoy the preview.

I just hope we just have someone who knows how to use it and take full advantage of everything this can bring to Commonwealth. Looks great so far, now we just need to rock the stadium like we did after Cobb's td against SC.

Looks fantastic but please, for the love of everything that's Holy, do not use that that music for ANY PART OF GAMEDAY!!!!!! It's so played out and we need something that gets people up and going crazy. That music sounds like Damien from the Omen is about to bust through the scoreboard and use his evil to do bad things! lol

I gotta disagree with that. O Fortuna is one of the few things UK pregame has got going for it. We've played it every year and that's how pregames become big - traditions. Keep doing that, the power K, the call to the post, and "It's Football Time in the Bluegrass" and the only thing needed to get the place going is wins.

Thanks to TGH for sharing. The video and ribbon boards are supposed to be up and running for the C. Michigan game, but I can't wait to see them put to use for the UofL game under the lights. I expect the boards and sound system will help create a better atmosphere/experience at Commonwealth.
