Exactly pb. I have rooted for Newt through all of this hoping he would come out of this funk but 9-37 or whatever it is now cant continue. Max needs to start 2nd half then work with him the next 2 weeks. Allow him to play Jax state and then be ready to finish up the season. That fumble by Newt was pathetic and CANNOT happen. On the bright side we are in better position than we were last year.

I think we likely will see Smith to start the half or at lest sometime in the 3rd quarter after the staff has had a further chance to realize that Newton isn't moving the team.
One thing I will say about the passing game today is this, USC's secondary is playing lights-out. Newton has put the ball on the money at least 4 or 5 times only to see a USC defender making a very good play on the ball. It's hard to move the ball through the air on a secondary like that especially when the upfront group is getting decent pressure.

My question is why have they given up on Clemons so early? He was getting some nice pickups early on and then they just started trowing it around for some reason.
