No way this can be true. . Barnhart's comments

  • Barnhart's comments. . .

Players have not eaten since 2:30

The game was not in doubt.

We would get back to Lexington late.

I was curious as to how the rules worked but if this is true you have got to be kidding me.

How can this happen in the SEC. Journalists please respond.

    The embarrassment continues.

  • If that is the case and Arkansas was not asking to end it as well, then there needs to be heads rolling. We are in the SEC. If we cant wait out a storm and finish a game no matter the score, then it is time to go to the MAC. Truly pathetic.

  • When will it sink in that Barnhart will destroy whatever is left of UK football.

Did the players want to quit? If so, give me 80 new players. No kid that wants to quit on his teamates deserves a free ride in college.

If Barnhart wanted to quit, then he has no respect for the 1000's of other UK players that never quit and he needs to be fired. He has no pride if that is the case no matter what the excuses. Weather be damned, play the GD game til the end.

If Joker wanted to quit for any reason he should be fired tonight.

NO PRIDE IN WEARING THE BLUE AND WHITE. DID ANYONE ASK THE PLAYERS IF THEY WANTED TO "QUIT"?

It was pretty obvious that after the Hog's first offensive play of the night many of our players were leaning toward "quiting". Arkansas has a terrible defense (they may be better than us ) and to put up the numbers we did speaks volumes about the confidence the young players have in our staff. When your team is way, way behind the 8 ball for different reasons (some legitimate) it's going to be a monumental task to overcome. The players minds (& hearts) were missing in action before the "storm" hit; and another quarter and 3 minutes would have made no difference except the shellacking would have been worse. I agree with Couch and other commentators----trying to get loose and focused after another long weather delay would possibly mean more injuries for both squads. Logistics and circumstances may prevent it but I hope a new coach can be introduced 10 seconds after the TN game on 11/24.

  • But ole Mitch keeps getting his sec welfare check to spread the wealth around. UK football = "47%".

  • It showed true in Whitlows first TD pass of his career...King acted like he could care the less. Just sad moment all the way around.

Are you kidding me? Use a little common sense. It was too dangerous to restart. It was still storming at 2:30 in the morning. Besides, the game was out of reach, Could we have scored a couple more times.....maybe, and Arkansas could have scored a couple more times as well. The outcome wouldn't have changed. It was strictly a safety issue and a good decision to call the game. They may have done us a favor.

I think King cared. He did the right thing when you're having your head handed to you.

I honestly dont think he did. He shows signs of it all of the time when we get down. Not running routes hard etc.

I agree 100%. What's he supposed to do? Jump up and down while your down 40 points! Give the kid a break!

No but he could acknowledged that he scored. He could have congratulated a true freshman qb on his first throwing td. Go back to the Florida game and look how many times he gave up on routes when we were down.

He did! He tossed the football to the ref like he should have. Congratulate Whitlow? I'm sure he did in one way or another but this isn't pee-wee football where you get a pat on the back for doing your job! King isn't the only player that has given up. For you to single him out is flat wrong!

You are right. Heaven forbid we ever single anyone out for not competing the way they should. I forgot we are UK...we need to sugar coat everything and whipe their butts for them and treat them like babies.

LOL......Didn't I just say that when it came to Whitlow and his first TD pass. Nice try at turning it around. LMAO! fail

  • Guys this thread has already been turned around. Go back to the original question. . . it will give any arguement about changes in UK football more credit.

    Thanks for your comments though.

  • You and I both. . which is why I would hope the media gives some sort of clarification.

It was on the radio and has been reported on other message boards.

I honeslty don't have a clue but we need an answer.

The one fact I do know is that a board member of the Liberty Bowl messaged me at the first time out saying how upset he was with our showing.

Guess why. . KY fans are a gold mine and a blast to hang out with.
