As a matter of fact, numerous vocal Card fans made it a point to denigrate and ridicule the ACC as the worst of the power conferences, continually citing how the Big East was, in fact, better. Even after Syracuse and Pitt left, all I saw from Card fans was how those programs couldn't improve the terrible ACC and how the BE should be getting much more credit than the ACC due to the BE's superiority. All were saying the ACC was definitely going to be poached by the BigXII and cease to exist in the near future, despite the fabled ESPN favoritism.
Then Card fans got an invite to the ACC and now they would line up to give Swofford a handy behind the ACC HQ and the ACC is definitely going to be a power player and the BIGXII is going to crumble and UK fans are quaking in their boots because UL is going to be a part of something special and FSU/VT/Clemson will never leave and blah blah blah blah.
As for the T-shirt smack, I'm 100% positive the "Card Strong" shirts began literally the day after he was hired. Not surprised at UL fans' short memories, given the fact that they are, collectively, full of circular reasoning and idiocy.

I think Louisville should have pushed FSU a little harder and tried to get into the Big 12 with the Noles. Yes, the ACC is a better payday than what the Big East had. But it is nothing compared to the Big 12. The new ACC when this is all said and done will be mostly what the former Big East was; a basketball conference with a lot of the same teams in it. It's already happening.
Louisville had to go somewhere though. They are in a little bit of financial trouble. They are losing their butt right now on the YUM Center. That deal isn't going as well as they thought it would.

IF the city of Louisville defaults on the Arena UL gets first dibs at buying the Arena. It's like they intentionally set the city up to fail with that contract knowing they would benefit. Jim Hosts and the board that put that all together should be sued for incompetency as they screwed the taxpayers royally.

I'm not sure why UK fans give a damn what conference UL plays in. They will always be little brother and are still in a little brother conference. UK is still the big dog in the SEC and UL will prove that they still can't keep a coach when Strong leaves for UT. ACC is going to fail anyway and Cal gets his pick of recruits as is. Nothing has changed.

It's funny to watch UK fans hate us.
FSU, DUKE, and VT were solidly in our corner. The ACC was unstable until Louisville was added. Our addition appeased the Southern schools to stick around. What are you all going to say once the GORs are signed?
Louisville is on the rise, has been for years. This strengthens the commonwealth as a whole. Have of you most likely love in Louisville, yet still complain?
The conference jumps and progress made have been astounding. Acting like what our university has done is not is just fear and ignorance on your part.
I for one hope Stoops works out for you. I think it was indeed a good hire. I also commend your players for carrying Joker off the field. One thing you cannot question is the mans integrity, he is a wonderful person and was treated such.

Not to stand up for the turds but they aren't losing money on the Yum Center. The city of Louisville is losing money in droves on the YUM Center but UL is still getting their $ as they completely hosed the city with that contract.
UL fans, wake up the ACC is a dying conference and everyone knows it. Congratulations, you have managed to rename the old Metro conference a few times over and now it's called the ACC. Funny how you keep ending up with the same schools time and time again.

UofL has worked for everything it has. We have the best AD in the country. We have one of the best presidents in the country. Our students work their tails off paying for school themselves. Nothing was giving, every thing was earned. I love that about our University. You all are jealous of what we have accomplished
You hate us? Fine. You have no respect for us? Fine. You don't feel good about any other university in the state? Ok. WKU is the 2nd best university in the state anyway behind UL. We are in the ACC, we weren't grandfathered in, we earned it. If sh!t hits the fan then we will fall comfortably into a better situation.
We constantly strive to get better while uk feel they're entitled to everything. That's fine, most of you all have grown up getting whatever you want anyway.
And it's sad, I've met some pretty intelligent uk fans but you all as a bunch are the laughing stock of the country.
I hope we stop playing, we need to improve our ooc schedule anyway.

You haven't earned anything. ACC had to add you to have any hope of not getting picked apart before Christmas. If you earned it they would have added you long ago. You were their 3rd choice behind Cuse and Pitt. Just let that sink in real slow. Enjoy it while you can, your coach will be gone soon and the ACC will just be the new Big East, same crap teams with a new conference name. Lipstick on a pig.
