Now its Texas and NC. State for Randle-Yeah Right

  • Read a blog that said that Texas and NC State are now the leaders for Randle, now does anyone believe that. Like its been said so many times before KY leads then others teams come into the picture and take the lead from UK then recruti signs with UK. PS: Anyone notice there are 5 of the top 10 players per Scout.com unsigned as of yet?

  • It's not out of the question. I don't understand why some people think that UK will get every player they recruit. It's already been shown they won't.

    I for 1 do not think UK can get every recruit out there but Cal gets more than anyone does of the top recruits. But this thread was meant to show the way things go in progression time after time when KY leads with a top recruit. Again, KY leads-other teams get involved-another team/s take lead-KY--gets recruit. This is a pattern well established when it comes to early reports of UKs demise. I think we are in thick with Randle but its going to be awhile till we know for sure so do I think its possible that some other program gets him yes BUT, KY is the firm leader and until I hear Randle say otherwise I believe.

    FTR, last I heard(with my sources albeit) it was still UK and FLA. As things stand right now, I'd be surprised if he didn't end up at one of those schools. I'd believe the NC St hype well before I'd believe Texas. My .02

    I agree totally. Looks like big man Anya cant make up his mind or did IU embarass him. On monday he announced he cut his list to NC State and IU and then IU announced they were no longer recruiting him right after his announcement. He now says he is wide open for recruitment, boy those Hoosiers are a hoot..

  • Boys, a little off subject but does the fact that Leonard Hamilton, Bill Self and Thad Matta were in Huntington Prep this afternoon to watch our boy Wiggins work out? I am a little paranoid about this recruit for some strange reason.... Prob because i want him so bad and honestly i just need someone to talk to about it.... Thanks guys

    I think that FSU has the best chance to scoop KY with Wiggins because his father is reported to have a good amount of control over Wiggins and we all know both his parents went to FSU although I think his father wants whats best for Andrew and that would be to play for Cal. Cal gets his players ready for the NBA and UK has so much exposure nationwide that can mean a lot of $ post UK career. Also Wiggins wants to win a National Championship and who has abetter chance of doing that, KY of course. But there could be a wildcard and that would be UNC. They have been recruiting him for awhile now but not heavily till of late. KY has something no other school has and that is Coach Cal.

  • I really think there is something to this trying to get some of his teammates some looks from these top coaches. I think Wiggins wants a little more attention and it builds his stock even more than it already is believe it or not. I think his camp wants everyone to believe that he's a little more wide open than he really is and I for one hope Calipari doesn't pull out of this before its over. I also think that Wiggins doesn't want to play with Randle, I really believe this and if you think about it you would probably agree. He shuts Randle down in a game last year because I think he had something to prove, like he's the best high school player in the nation. Randle is more like a rival to him and I really believe if Calipari wants him then he will have to put the brakes on a tad with Randle, and I know that some UK fans don't believe this but I think Wiggins didn't think UK would land Randle. A year ago most people thought it was going to be between UT, UNC, Duke with Uk nowhere it sight and now that has changed and so has Wiggins letting other coaches in on him. In the end Cal will have to decide which one of these guy's we need the most and will fit into next years team the best, for me its a no brainer Wiggins!! He's gonna be one of the best players to play one year of college and could lead any team against us and give that team a chance to beat us, at least a good team. UNC, KU, Ohio ST. but not FSU just don't think they have enough but these other teams do and it would be a major problem for our title run in 13.

    Cal has put a lot of time and effort into Wiggins and theres no way he pulls out and why would he. When has he ever been shy about going up against any other coach(program) for a recruit especially one that he has put so much effort into so thats not going to happen. The Randle vs Wiggins angle Im not so sure as you are that is a problem. Iwatched that game between the 2 of them and your right Wiggins did a # on Randle but wouldnt that spur Randle to want to play against that guy every day in practice to make himself better, and anyway I really dont think both will end up at UK although I hope they do.
