I told you guys a while back that my eyes were opened when I moved down here to Tenn. I thought UK had just as dedicated football fans as anyone but these folks do not care to do "whatever it takes" to win. Auburn does not mind going on probation if it means winning a NCAA and or SEC title. They will just reload and come back doing the same stuff after the probation is over.

However, this makes me a sick. There is no way I would let my daughter be a part of this. Money is one thing but this is on a different level. This makes me be ashamed of SEC programs willing to sell out these young women. Terrible x 10.

I believe that UK classifies cheer, dance team, mascots and band as "spririt groups" (see link).

Most schools have groups (mostly girls) like this who welcome recruits, escort them around campus and to parties while they are on visits. Its is VERY common, and not just with the "big boy" programs of the SEC. Of course, people are simply assuming these girls do "whatever it takes", but I wouldn't doubt that it gets a little on the wild side sometimes.

I'm not sure how the details work at most schools, but it could be that they receive some sort of scholarship or stipend for working in these groups. Or if they are school employees, it could be that they're paid for their time just like many students who work in the athletic or academic offices are. Who knows? Regardless, it makes for an interesting story and with Auburn being my least favorite SEC program, I personally love all of the mud being slung their way since they sold their soul to get a title with Newton.

This reminds me, whatever came of the ladies that were 'escorting' for TN while Kiffin was there? Is that still under investigation too?

That seemed to be swept under the rug. I had totally forgotten about it.
