White to Vandy and Cooper to UL equals Double Whammy for UK. Cats will face both studs every season. Would've loved to signed both of them at UK. James Franklin truly is the Pied Piper.

Yancy by a mile. But I'd take Cooper over any other WRs UK is close with right now.

I hate that a local kid didn't give UK a real look, and that we'll see him in the SEC East every year, but I'm taking a perverse pleasure in watching the Trinity 3 spurn UL for other schools.

Franklin is certainly doing a great job recruiting this year, but looking at his class, I have to wonder about his positional balance.

12/16 commits are skill position players. Does Vandy have room for a full class? If so, maybe it's no big deal.

In any case, ESPN has Vandy with 7 (!) 4* commits, 247 4 4*, Rivals 3 4*, and Scout 1 4*. Gotta give him credit, he's certainly selling well.

It'll be interesting to see the product he puts on the field. I seem to remember Strong getting a good class and it being predicted that he was going to start reeling in top 25 classes every year. Then reality hit in the form of conference expansion and he's looking more and more mortal on the recruiting front every year.

Not saying this is a similar situation yet, but Franklin has really talked a good game to this point. I'll be interested to see what happens if USCe, Georgia, Florida, and Auburn beat them and they begin the season 2-5. After a benign UMass team, Vandy will be playing a UK team looking for revenge in Commonwealth, an Ole Miss team that is fighting to get back to relevance, and a Tennessee team that I personally think will be one of the surprises in the East.

Will Vandy and Franklin still have their shine if they go 5-7 or 4-8? Is another 6-6 season with 2 SEC wins good enough?

And Timmons? Maybe not really close but definitely in the mix.

I don't know if it's joy. It's more schadenfreude than anything else. A strong sense as well, since I heard from our fans and theirs about the top 10 recruiting classes Strong would be reeling in year after year. Of course, I would like White to give UK a look, but that was clearly not in the cards.

Strange really, that we could get a serious look for the #2 CB in the nation but not White. Or get a commitment from a kid like McClain who is likely just as talented but does not have the exposure on a national level playing against relatively inferior talent. I guess we'll have to wait a few years to know just how seriously the program was harmed by not getting three players from a private school in Louisville.
