OT: UNC's Notice of Allegations

  • Most of it is centered around former assistant John Blake and former tutor (who was employed by Butch Davis) Jennifer Wiley and also the players that received extra benefits. It's strange that with all the allegations they didn't get a LOIC but a failure to monitor. Of course they are asking for a lot more info as well so I suppose it could be added later. If you want to read he entire thing just hit the link.

  • A football player implicated was on the Heels basketball roster. It will be interesting to see if he played in any games. I believe it was the 2007-08 season and the name was Hill?

No idea, the names of players have been removed in this copy but that is interesting if true. Ol Roy may have to vacate a win or two. hat would probably hurt the Heels fans more than anything that happens to their football program.

  • NCAA sure has been swinging the axe lately chairshot

Is there such thing as lack of institutional control by the NCAA? Seems like they've let a lot of programs run amuck over the years and now its payback time.

Ohio State, USC, North Carolina, Tennessee, Auburn, Oregon. Who isn't in trouble?

Yet still, the NCAA bothers to spend time and effort on 500th win celebrations...no

  • A friend and I were discussing this today: What an unreal year for cheating and cesspools in college football. It's gotten way too big (and lucrative) for the big boys to play fair. Rampant cheating everywhere you look.

  • It no different now than it's every been, with age of the Internet and 24/7 recurit coverage it just blows up faster and they can't cover it up. NCAA has never had control just was able to hid it better

I guess so, OB. It just seems like there's SO MUCH money involved now that even good guys like Jim Tressel are getting dragged into it.

  • I don't know about that OB. I don't see recruiting being in the middle of stage at this current point. Most of these issues are from players that are enrolled and boosters trying to be part of the game.

that's very disturbing. Amazing indeed if Davis is able to keep his job. How on earth they are not slammed with lack of institutional control is beyone me. I don't care if you say the coach shouldn't have known x,y,z... But NINE major violations and they don't get hit with LOIC? Crazy! Just shows how absurd the NCAA is.
