I would propose that Tyler Robinson has made a bigger impact than Ray Sanders. He has been critical to the running game and if we every throw him the ball he seems to catch it.

I know this, and agree also. It would be great to see Mitch back Joker up and give him what he needs.. more $$ for better recruiters, and the facilities to impress them.

I have always said UK should only recruit players who can start from day one until they have enough playmakers to have a red shirt program. With UK offering early playing time it should help in recruiting but the bottom line is simple, you have to have people who can block, tackle, catch, and run the ball to be in the SEC.

Now the one thing lacking is strength from this sort of approach so you change into a system that does more than always run the ball on first down and pass on third.,

I think the broad view is the 2007/2008 classes were very weak, these would be your RS seniors, seniors and RS juniors. The 2009 class (juniors and RS sophomores) was somewhat better but not in the same category as the 2010 and 2011 classes where were much better. We also seemed to have an abnormal amount of attrition out of those classes, some of which was undoubtedly due to players being overrecruited. So I think the dreaded word "rebuilding" does apply to some extent. Had we had better recruiting in 2007/2008/2009 we would have some junior and senior leadership and some play makers that are noticeably absent right now.

No one wants to be told that it might be another year or two before we field a competitive team again but that's probably the truth of the matter. I along with a lot of others really overvalued the skill players on offense this year. A minority warned us that replacing 4 key skill players would be impossible but I guess most of us preferred to look at it from more of an optimistic viewpoint and bought in to the "coach speak" too much.
