  • Did "our pile mover" touch the field today?

  • Williams and Sanders both played well today. Not a huge deal. Mobley will have more chances.

  • Sorry....but when you fumble, you don't play well.

Coaches have to been able to trust you with the ball....both had fumbling problems last year as well (As did Newton)....

This...I dont care how many yards you gain, you put the ball on the ground, you get pulled.

    bigbluerules

  • He did get pulled and I know for a fact Joker had pulled backs for putting it on the ground in the past
In fact there was a running back whose name I have forgotten that now plays for Curry because he transferred due to being benched for fumbling. Many on here complained he should have been given more chances. he fumble by Williams hit the guys knee. It was a tough play.

  • Mobley should have played more as soon as Sanders fumbled in the first half..But Sanders is one of Jokers favorites and unlike Donald Russell he will continue to play..Mobley needs to play..

  • forget Mobley, what about poor Taylor. He could have enrolled at the best program going this comming December, instead he is here suffering with us.

There ought to be 100 guys pissed off on twitter tonight. 8 months of hard work (or at least I hope it was) pissed away in a few hours, and having the ESPN guys laugh and make jokes about how awful you are.

  • Mobley will definately get his chances. Williams played extremely well today and Sanders ran the ball hard, too. I can understand his 1st fumble. He was low to the ground and digging for extra yards and the UL defender still managed to get under the pads and hit him just in the right spot when Sanders was in mid air. I can forgive him for that one, but, the 2nd one, when it's a straight inside handoff and you've already easily picked up the 1st down, you can't lose a ball in that situation. No excuse for that one and I think that'll hurt him getting future carries. IMO, the 2nd fumble occurred with a 3rd and short situation at about the 5 yd line. That's when you should have your bigger, physical back in the game, to move the pile. Perfect scenario for Mobley or Taylor. Joker's pretty much already ruled out redshirting them, so, utilize them in those situations. I think they can help down the road, for sure.

Can't you take your miserable act back over on TOS? I'm sure the fella's over there all appreciate your routine.

  • I'm not sure Mobley has a lot to be upset about. What little bit we ran the ball today we were rather successful. The fumbles were bad, but neither guy made multiple mistakes. I think that both RBs were having some trouble in blitz pick ups.

I will say I like the fire though. I noticed that out of several of the young guys today. It would be nice if the defensive players were the ones pissed off on Twitter.

  • Tell me one player that isn't pissed. They just got hit in the mouth and didn't like it. Hopefully that will light a fire

    Why so serious?

  • Put Mobley at LB.

  • We ran out of the gun all day. Bruisers don't have time to get up to speed to hit holes hard out of the gun. We need to go to a little more power running game early to set the tone for our offense in games. Run it out of the gun every now and then. OUtside of the fumble by Sanders I thought he looked great and on both drives where we fumbled we were gashing Da Ville. Just can't have fumbles period. We come away with at least 10 pts without fumbles then you look at the missed kick. We needed things to our way and they didn't.

I doubt Mobley wants to play LB. Kind sucks though because a guy like him won't be utilized correctly in our offense because we aren't a power running team. We are a finesse team.

  • I don't see Mobley at LB. Plus with a quick lead, ul could afford giving us that 4 and 5 yards running the ball the rest of the game. You really can't have your #1 and #2 or #3 back putting the ball on the ground in the same game. But mainly you can't have your defensive line getting pushed around all game, its a killer. Plus no decent linebacker play and the secondary, its hard to rate them with the non-existent pressure that we put on Teddy. Saying that, the offense might have kept us close but two fumbles inside the 30 and an easy field goal miss, also kept this game from being close. All around, I wouldn't feel well about the overall play if I was a player.

  • "Expressing" yourself on Twitter is not a good way to get more PT in the future.....I'd say it is time for stadium steps.

And...RS any freshman who didn't burn it today.

Also, keep Newton on the sideline...he's VERY lucky he didn't lose that fumble of his. Unless, Newton can play LB....

    jamccain

  • Mobley ran out of the gun 90% of the time or more in his HS offense, so he is accustomed to it.

    KBerg54285

  • Great teams don't fumble. Good teams fumble sometimes. Bad teams fumble often which kills momentum and give away field position and easy points.

B.S. we needed to win the rushing yards to win and they didn't come close. What was the reason for not playing the freshman? Likely to avoid fumbles. we see how that turned out.

    Catmando

  • For some reason and it was probably in reaction to the UL defense, we gave up on the run too early. I honestly don't see Sanders as an SEC level back. Williams is very good but small and we need to alternate backs or he will be finished by the time we make the SEC. I also don't think we made the UL defense worry that much about the run. We need more under center and play action work sprinkled in.

That was because we didn't run the football ENOUGH. Our RB averaged nearly 8 yards a carry yesterday. I like what Max did yesterday, but we can't be throwing the football 50 times and expect to beat anyone.

UK threw the ball so many times because they were playing from behind all day. If it wasn't for that you would have seen a more balanced attack.
