Old man Miller refining his game

On a roster inundated with youth and constantly evolving with early draft entrants, it's not too often that a senior has suited up for the Cats during the Calipari era at UK.

  • Hopefully we will see the SEC tourney Miller for the entire season. If so, we will be nearly unbeatable. If not, he will struggle to make the starting lineup.

  • After all the ups and downs Miller has been through, wouldn't it be something for him to finish his career with a national championship and a Final Four M.O.P.? That would be storybook.

  • I like Millers game. He just does not have the mentality to demand the ball and I don't think that will change. Even in highschool when he was so much better than everybody he was this way.

Having said this, there can be a place on NBA teams for him in the future. Ofcourse the problem is that the higher up in competition you go the harder it is to stand out. Miller needs to do something that makes him stand out so they can see him and say... "Miller is ______________." Josh is a space eater who can step away from the basket. Liggins is a defensive stopper. What is Miller?

  • I honestly think the Darius Miller we saw toward the end of the season and in the SECT is the Darius Miller you're going to see next season.

I agree with Fish. I also believe that Gilchrist won't steal Miller's starting spot, but only push Darius' game to new heights. Miller won't play against another SF all year better than Mike IMO, save Barnes. So games should be a breeze compared to practice. I also read somewhere where Gilchrist said he doesn't mind coming off the bench. He just wants to win.

  • I hope Miller steps up his game and plays like he wants the ball. He is an all around player. He can have a long career in the NBA, He won't be a star, but he will be a valuable role player ala Prince. I think Mille remains a starter this year too. The competition will push him to new heights.

  • It's time for Miller to be the player we know he can be for 40 minutes every game. The kid has All-SEC talent, but needs to be more aggressive and assertive.

  • I think Miller realizes that if he plays like he played the first two months of the season, he won't see the floor. I believe Miller has turned the corner and is set up to have a monster season.
