Opening Tip: Cauley-Stein shines

  • this team will not be as good as last year. But they dont have to play last years team lol. So they will definetly contend for number 9.

  • The cats will be just fine this year there are only just a few teams that worry me a whole lot. At least right now anyway lol and that is Louisville, and Indiana both of these teams are loaded and will be tough outs come tournament time. If we can get Alex to play like the beast he is and Goodwin can improve his shooting then the cats will be tough as well. If our guard play doesn't improve a ton from now till then our cats will be in trouble. We are going to have teams pack the paint against us and we have to have more than just Kyle be able to shoot teams out of that defense. Have faith in our coach and I'm now just praying he is able to get Andrew to come and be a cat.

We have more than just Kyle that can shoot threes. Mays can knock 'em down, Goodwin will make his share considering he will likely lead the team in shot attempts, Harrow can hit them, Poythress can step out and make them. If Hood can get on the floor he can make them. That's six guys that can make shots from deep. IMO that is plenty to keep defenses honest. Plus, I expect this team to shoot tons of free throws.

  • Archie won't shoot a high percentage and until Harrow shows a bit more I just don't think we have as much shooting as you may think. We know one thing Kyle can shoot and we will shoot a lot of free throws and Alex won't be out shooting a ton if the blue and white game is any idea of how Cal wants him to play. He was yelling and screaming for Alex to be a beast down low and he expects Alex to be one of if not the best offensive rebounder in college this year and to do that you have to play down low for the most part. But hey I hope your right and these guy's can keep defenses honest because that will only make scoring easier for this team. Archie will lead us in shots and I think Alex can lead us in scoring and possible rebounding as well. If this team can gel quickly and play for one another like the previous teams have done then we are going to be a scary team come March and could possible make it to three straight FF's and repeat as champions..

  • Since the KY fans have seen Cal pull his teams together the past 3 years then I think we can expect the same for this season but I think it will come later rather than sooner with this bunch of players. They are young even for Cals standards and although we have Mays and he is a senior he wasnt in Cals system last year unlike Darius Miller was last year and that makes a difference. I have to admit Im a little worried about Harrow and if he is going to be enough of a leader like the typical Cal guard but its still way to early to panic but I am concerned. WCS and Noel are going to be monsters on defense and the other teams are going to be scared to take the ball to the hoop. Look for Missouri to be pretty darn good and give KY the most competition for the SEC title.
