1) Joker did the right thing by sitting Max. Why...because right now he is are only viable option at QB and risk of losing him for more games than necessary would be foolish. We all know now that Newton is just not a QB as much as we all wanted him to be...no more second guessing. Whitlow is just not ready and Cobbins seems to be out of the picture. Next year QB should have several more options and things should start to stabilize.
2) Our guys were ready to play and came out very strong on both sides of the ball. There wasn't that initial shell shock, or deer in the headlights start like so many other years. Kudos for not being intimidated.
3) Defense seems to be solidifying a little bit against some tougher competition, so maybe these kids are growing up and learning to play with less thinking and more instant reaction. Hopefully we continue to improve.
4) Our running game seems to have excellent potential and had our passing game existed at all we may have had a pretty good day moving the ball.
I hope our kids keep moving forward and fighting through these very deflating times. They must not get totally demoralized in the next couple of games as they can still salvage a decent season and prepare for good things to come. One of the things that is so frustrating is these kids can play! They just haven't done it yet. Keep fighting guys!
Yes, I agree with your four points. The defense has actually put together back to back nice performances, even though both games have ended in the L column.
