I love how if you don't pick the Cats to go undefeated you're a doom and gloomer.
In all seriousness though, they aren't going undefeated in SEC play and I've said all along I thought they'd be 13-3 because they are still a work in progress. Alabama has the exact type of team that could beat them - physical defense, slow pace, quality bigs, fearless disposition, good coaching. The thing about Bama is it doesn't shoot well, but we saw last year they did make shots against Kentucky. If Mitchell and Trevor Lacey (who probably will want to prove something given his recruiting scenario) throw in a few threes, given the way Kentucky's halfcourt offense has looked this season, especially recently, it's a pretty legitimate pick.

I'm not necessarily saying I predict UK will lose Saturday, but here's why I can definitely understand Matt's suggestion:
-UK really struggled with Auburn and Tennessee slowing the game down to a halt.
-Alabama will do the same thing.
-Alabama is much better than Auburn and Tennessee.
Yes, those games were on the road, but Anthony Grant came into Rupp Arena in his first year (2009-10) and was not intimidated at all with a team that was pretty lousy against a UK team that was every bit as good as this year's, albeit in different ways.

Did say he was going out on limb though & he would hear it next week for it, but I don't think UK will lose at home, man he's one pessimistic dude, ain't he?
