Parnell to Cards

    Doubt it.

TCU & WVU may have something to say about that. And USF always recruits well.

CS told him he could "have the No 1 CB spot" according to Aaron. Wow, that's good recruiting? Telling a HS kid that he's already got the starting spot? And these dumb kids believe him..SMH

I'm glad we don't go around telling kids they can have a starting spot. I'm sure the kids already at UL are happy to hear that lol.

Strong had some early buzz but at least one highly touted CB didn't make it and IIRC most of the transfers they got have already left?

What matters IMO is what happens on the field and so far Joker is one up on Cholly. I see win #2 coming this year.

I don't know why Aaron is reporting he will be No. 1.

That is not what the kid said.

NC State and Louisville promised he could WEAR #1.

That makes more sense. Just reporting what aaron posted.

That is a bit odd and certainly raises a red flag to me.

  • apparently he has a torn ACL. he originally thought it was a bruise but Aaron is saying that Parnell told him he has torn it and will need surgery

    take it FWIW

if accurate this changes the he picked UofL over UK argument quite a bit

He told Steve Jones the same thing. Sounds as if he was getting offers pulled and was scared about not having a spot and committed to UL.

Hate that for the young man. Hope it all works out for Parnell in the end.

Steve was told he tried to commit to UK and with a torn ACL the staff wouldn't take the commit.....can't say as I blame them. but it may bite them in the end too.

I wonder if Cholly knew about his injury?

Wow. Hate to hear that for the kid, UL commit or not.

    That certainly does change things.

Don't buy UK "turning down" Parnell for a second... unless this ACL occurred in the last week.

But West would be a very nice addition, regardless.

According to the report that came out he only got it looked at after the camps at Clemson and South Carolina they just found out it was a tear according to the kid himself. Apparently prior to having it looked at he only thought he had a bruise.

Don't know if that would make us pass or not Jeff but he just found out he tore the ACL

What can they have to offer right now that we don't? Better league UK, better stadium UK, better team UK, better facilities UK, 4 straight wins UK.

Someone needs to explain how they are recruiting so well

WE have a bigger stadium but their overall facilities are nicer, still that would not seem to be a deal breaker. Maybe early PT was on the table - they are in a lot worse shape depth wise than we are.

  • Lindley was a 2 star recruit with a busted knee, and we took him. Granted, things are much better for UK football than they were then, but I don't see us passing on the kid because he was injured. We might have told him we wanted him to greyshirt or something, but I don't see us pulling his offer.

As tight as ships are this year I don't see the staff taking a chance on anyone with a torn ACL that hasn't already had the surgery and are into their rehab. Just too many good players out there to take the risk. Plus this is likely the last CB we take, it isn't like we are having trouble filling that position.

Well I think that is the thing, nobody is reporting his offer was pulled, just that they wouldn't accept his commit right now. I believe they wanted to see how his injury progressed.

Just seems like the staff is doing their due diligence here.

    Agree completely with Slinger here.

Also your point is a very good one 80 but from what I'm gathering they told him they wouldn't take his commit right now probably meaning they wanted to see him in person before they'd take him (ala Chapman). Maybe he's not going to be able to do that (as some are suggesting) or maybe he decided that since UL would take him now he'd take the scholarship. Either way I hope he doesn't end up with a torn ACL and getting cut loose late in the process it's not like Cholly hasn't done it before (see the DB from Cincy last year)

May be a case of that too Jeff......UL fans have already pulled it with us on Chapman about his knee.

And as I recall I don't remember anyone BBQing the birds over the Blaylock twins either.

I do think it's fact that the kid has a torn ACL and regardless I hope he doesn't get screwed in the end if his rehab doesn't go well.

  • Simply put, Joker got beat for this kid. Parnell is a vey talented CB, torn ACL or not. I can not see the 'Cats turning him down. It is certainly possible UK was unwilling to take his commit now and wanted to see how his rehab went. But, he wanted to commit now and chose UofL.

West, in all likelihood, will commit Friday. He is also a very talented CB, just not ballyhooed like Parnell. He is very quick and covers well. Of course, like DT, corners are very hard to project, but West has what you look for in a corner coming out of HS. He'll be a great pick-up.

  • I think it is just part of the game that is recruiting. Likely the full details won't be known for a long time. In regards to Lindley lots of things have changed. Lindley didn't play for 2 years. He greyshirted before redshirting. Hard to offer a kid now you won't have available for 2 years. Also SEC schools have a hard number of only 25 they can sign. We can't take unlimited kids and then greyshirt some like when TL signed.

You assessment is simply based on what you THINK you know. Seriously you don't know if the kid had an offer or not. What if UK backed off when he didn't come to camp? How does a kid get to be a 4 star recruit in SC WITHOUT either school offering? It actually makes sense to you to take commitments from DBs with torn ACLs? Seriously you think UK is that hard up for finding DBs? Don't you think it is feasible UK was moving more carefully. Maybe they only would take him after seeing him play post injury. Or only would take a greyshirt. If you are the kid you certainly arent going to tell fan sites you are hurt or have had an offer receded when a free education and chance of a lifetime is on the line.

But no. Let's just go with the Joker got beat by Charlie line which feeds the agenda.
