  • And who are we to judge moral character? I'm not looking for someone to fellowship with I want a coach who can win football games. I'm tired of spending most of my weekend with travel time and the monetary issues that come along with it (tickets, gas, etc...) to watch a subpar football team. This is the one opportunity Kentucky has to hire a top-notch football coach that IMO if given the resources from the administration will have us in contention for the SEC EAST within four years, possibly less. But without a doubt will win football games next year.

    What does that mean who are we? Anyone can judge moral character just like you his coaching ability. Do you have to be a great coach or great player to judge coaching ability? You do not have to be perfect to determine someones actions were of low moral character. There are numerous coaches out there that win games every week and do not have the baggage Petrino does, let's pick one of them.

    Saban, Meyer, Kelly, Miles...these guys exist and we need to find the next one.

    Yep! Petrino is a proven winner as a head coach in the SEC. Smart is not. Don't get me wrong I think Smart is a very good coach just no HC experience.

Probably under any other circumstances he would never consider the University of Kentucky. We need to take advantage of this opportunity. IMO there is very little that he could do to hurt our football program at this point, he is a winner and our program needs this.

    Really, ask Penn State what people of low character can do to your program and University.

    No, he said there is very little that could hurt this program. I was simply pointing out that in revent history people of low character have hurt programs and universities rather significantly. The comparison isn't with Sandusky rather all the people that lied and covered for him, the Petrino specialty.

    I don't think I understand your arguement. If the admin hires someone with no influence from the fan base then the admin would be responsible .

    If the fanbase forces Mitch to hire someone he does not feel comfortable with, then how can you hold him responsible.

    A lot of people wanted BG as our basketball, yet people blame Mitch for a bad hire. People speak of him like he was a raging violent alcholic yet it took 2 years for a lot of that info to come out. On top of that a few weeks before he was fired a lot of people wanted to give him another year. Yet now everyone tries to say Mitch was a moron for hiring him.

    Let Mitch and the admin, who have a lot more info than all us on the situation and coaches, make the decision. According to my records at the time he made every hire, except Rich Brooks, they were all seen as the right decision. That might not of worked out but that does not mean they were bad decisions.

    Why do you think the situation exists that would give KY a chance to get BP at this time over any other time in the past? Its because of what he has done to so many people in the past several years and that includes his employers and the fans and even the players at those places he has worked at. I think you have a perfect right to post a petition to Mitch so he will hire BP but I will choose not to sign it which is my right.

    One doesnt have to associate what he has done in recent years to religion of any kind. He has treated the people he has worked for by lying countless times and trying to cover up those lies. There is no doubt he is a very good coach but I choose not to want him as the HC of the KY Wildcats because his actions off the field has hurt many people and how do you know he wont do the same thing here? And I know people are going to ask"how do you know he will", well the answer is I dont but you really do have to take the string of things he has done and make an educated guess and my guess is he will continue to be what he has always been, a very good coach but also a person that is not to be trusted with young men that are 18 to 22 years old and their futures.

    I'd rather have a morally bankrupt prick for a HC that can win and recruit over a good guy that leaves us in the cellar of the SEC.

    I want a coach that gets the best out of his players, keeps top talent like Quick in state, and strikes fear In our opponents.
