    That's lame.

    If anyone else on here were to make the same claim without mentioning a name, link, etc. we would get the "BS" flag waved at us.... and it wouldn't matter whether or not it did the program any good to announce it.

    I guarantee if I said I knew Mitch has been in contact with a "massive name" coach who has a great success rate... YOU would want to know who I was referring to.

    A. Feel free to ask fisher if my info is credible and b. If I was you I'd take everything I read with a grain of salt and understand that most people with any credibility get info from time to time that they can't share specifics. Ignore me If you don't like what I say or how I say it.

Fisher knows who I'm talking about and has heard the same info I have. Which is "uk has reached out to a major ( big name) but we have no idea if there is interest".

    Besides the name, you guys know as much as we do at this point. Suffice to say they Barnhart is not leaking a thing nor should he.

    I know what you mean hop, in that you can't say anything. But you just have to not say anything at all because you sound extremely hypocritical when you tell other people they have no clue what they are talking about if they won't mention names.     If it sounded that way, I wasn't criticizing hop in the least bit. I know exactly what he is talking about because I have someone I could go to right now for legitimate, inside, insight on the coaching search. But I also would not post it on here because depending on who the actual coaches being heavily considered are, most people are going to say its all hearsay if you dont mention your source by name (which you can't do), or if it is a name that does not have a lot of backing behind it. Because then your source could figure out you were the one who leaked it because once you post something on here it takes on a whole new life of its own and within 24 hours everyone in town will have heard about it.

    Not joking in the least. It has been reported that TD was contacted about the UK job to guage his interest. I opined that he might be the MegaName the OP was referring to - didn't say I thought he say, "Yes" - I don't. I think he probably gave them a polite, "No thanks" and was then asked for recommendations on possible cadidates. Barnhart and Dungy are acquainted through FCA.

    Rex Ryan took the Jets to back to back AFC Championship games. Ryan is struggling now because their QB is horrible. He would insert so much excitement into this program it would be unbelievable. We'd be beyond lucky to get Rex Ryan.

    Im pretty sure everyone is saying if you cant say it dont say you know it. I can get on here and say like the one poster said..I know who the next coach is going to be but I cant say anything until its officially announced. Its pointless to state you know something and cant say it on a blog. I hope you understand that.

    Oh. I hadn't heard that he was contacted. I don't get that much coverage on UK here in Dallas.

  • Learned this morning that the coaching search isn't as far along as some people may like to think it is. Also, that while BP is not a favorite choice, he isnt not being considered like one such coach down in Bowling Green.

    Actually, I don't think he was.

    He states that Petrino "isn't not being considered". I read it as he is stating that BP is being considered. The adding of "like one such coach down in Bowling Green." refers to "not being considered" rather than "isn't not being considered" as I read it. I don't see it as reading they are both being considered.
