Petrino may be a scumbag and a piece of trash but the guy knows how to win games and get the most out of the talent kids have.
Petrino didn't get his past universities on Probation. Granted, Cal technically didn't either but he was the man in charge at the time and ultimately he is responsible.
We would be lucky to have Petrino as our HC for 3-4 years. He would change the culture of losing at UK, fill the stadium, recruit FL, and have us on the prime ESPN channels instead of the Ocho and CSS.

cobby ... I have two questions for you. I'd love an honest answer and then I'll accept whatever your answer is .... even if you have a different opinion than I do.
1) Would you be enthusiastic and eager to send your only son off to play football for Petrino for four years and be educated, mentored and guided into manhood by a 'scumbag and piece of trash'?
2) Would you be enthusiastic and eager to send you only daughter off to work closely with Petrino given his history?

1a. I'm confident that I've taught my son right from wrong and when to question authority. I'd be fine sending him to play for a prick like Petrino if he were at UK. 1b. My son would have the chance of going to the school he loves, I'd be able to watch him play every game, and he would have a better chance of making it as a pro in the process. Sign him up!
2. My daughter likewise knows right from wrong and would know better than to mess with Petrino. She doesn't have any "Daddy" issues that would lead her to desire a relationship with a guy that's old enough to be her father either.
It's all in perspective.
