    Turns out, I was wrong. I should have said 4.7.

  • How 'bout Miss St.'s Fletcher Cox? 4.79 at 298 lbs. Unreal. He was super disruptive against us this year, and may be working himself into the top half of the 1st round.

    Or Dontari Poe from Memphis. 6'4 346 lbs... 4.98. His original unofficial time was somewhere in the 4.8s. Also put up 44 reps in the bench. Best among DTs, with the next highest checking in at 36. That's a scary size/speed/strength combo.

  • Griffin is straight sick. If his right arm wasn't amazingly gifted, there is a pretty good shot he would be representing the U.S. in the 200 meter hurdles this coming Olympics. Wonder what he could run at his track weight? Throw that in there with graduating in three years and that isn't too bad for a guy who got 0 big instate offers.

    Also, loved his interview today on SportsCenter with Herm Edwards. They were talking about socks (Herm and RGIII both are known for wearing crazy socks) and Griffin asked him if they were going to compare them at the draft next month, Herm seemed hesitant, then Griffin said "you said it, you play to win the game don't you?" Thought it was a very clever remark, on live national TV that had everyone laughing on the set. Kid is going to be special, book it.

  • I saw this morning where they were reporting a 4.38 for RGIII, so I assume that was an unofficial time as it was all later being reported at 4.41...which in the grand scheme of things is not a big difference at all. Regardless, that is SICK for a QB. That said, I still am not sold on him as a pro style, pocket passing QB. I know he has the stats and is an incredible athlete, but he has a really jacked up wind-up and throwing motion. I know that doesn't mean everything, but when I watched him this year I just did not see a future NFL QB back there. Of course, most everyone said the same about Cam Newton and look at what he did. Regardless, I don't see him approaching anywhere near Cam's athleticism and elite QB skill set (as much as it pains me to say as I despise everything Cam stands for). I see RGIII as one of those guys who suddenly gets hype beyond belief by winning the Heisman and has every scout drooling over his performance at the Combine, only to go on and be mediocre at best in the League.

    Haha good timing on the post, MJ. We'll see. I have him passing Colt McCoy or Sam Bradford in year one if either team drafts him. A team will move up to the #2 spot, and give up a lot to do it to get him, so he will definitely have some pressure and expectations going to whatever team that may be.

    That guy was impressive. . . He also had a 29.5 inch verticle, and jumped almost 9 feet in the broad jump at 346, lol

    That is "freak" territory.

    People have no idea how fast that is until you see a guy that heavy move that way in person.

    To put it in perspective, I covered a local combine a few years ago that featured most of Lexington's top rising seniors. There were some good kids (not SEC good, but very nice players) at the event. They were running 4.7s for the most part. We're talking running backs and receivers. And it looked like they were really running fast.
