Reason for dissappointing ticket sales for alumni game?

  • What are we thinking? People plugged into football, the exhibitions last summer were garbage, or the economy? I kind of think it's the economy more than anything, I just think its harder to drop $50 to $100 on something like this these days. It's certainly the reason I purchased the $20 ticket.

    I think it's a combination of all those things. And then there is what I call the "UK Basketball Hall of Fame" effect.

    The UK HOF did not fare very well. Once the present moves to the past, fans just aren't as receptive for some reason, even when current NBA stars are involved. Now if there were a recruiting HOF ....

    Also think fans are just burned out from all the exhibitions last summer.

  • I believe economy is a big part of it. Funny how the low ticket sales for this isnt getting blasted by some on this board. Guess they havent found a way to lay it at Joker's feet yet.

    WAIT WHAT???? A UK basketball event is struggling to sell tickets. It is Joker and Mitch's fault, they didn't commit to football. FAAARR joker, FAAARRR Mitch. [Sarcasm included free of charge] biggrin And i am not baiting anything with this.

  • I liked the two exhibitions against Cals Dominican team last summer. While sloppy at times they were at least very intense. Rondo was every bit as intense as he is in a real game as we're some of the others.

    The legends vs villains game was not very entertaining for me. This years exhibition seems like it will be closer to that as opposed to the two against the DR team. The lone exceptions would probably be Rondo and MKG because I just don't think they know how to pull back at all. But I'm not sure if those two are even in town for this event.

  • Some people work on Saturday. If it was in the evening I would be there but I have to work till 4 Also just realized my son plays soccer saturday afternoon so that may play into also. Lots of soccer played on Saturday afternoons.
