Recievers:Sweat, Collins, Legree, Robinson, Montgomery, Timmons, Blue, Badet.........Do you guys look for all these guys to play? Any possible redshirts or is depth too big of an issue.
Running backs: Clemons, George, Sanders, Mobley, Taylor, Thomas, Kemp.........Probably too crowded. Can any of these guys help at another position. Wondering about Thomas and Taylor really.
I'm thrilled with the playmakers in this class! Something we've been lacking since Cobb and Locke moved on.
Something might give with RBs, IMO.
Scott spoke highly of both Sanders and George today.
Kemp is definitely staying as a back.
I don't know how Clemons has recovered but think he fits in well.
I don't know how Taylor has recovered.
Mobley seemed to be lacking as a receiver which is very important for RBs in Brown's offense.
I think Thomas stays at RB but if both Taylor and Clemons look real good (I have my doubts), he could move to CB as many schools were recruiting him for that over RB. I think he stays at RB, though.
But, in all honestly, some players currently on the roster will not be here this fall to fit in all this class if I have counted right. IOW, if some kids aren't working, they may not be back this fall.
Coach Scott said that they were "all in" with Kemp at running back while discussing the possiblity of recruiting other players. That combined with the fact that I think I remember an interview with Thomas where he stated that UK was interested in him as a corner, makes me think he could move. I tried to ask that question during the blog with Coach Scott, but it didn't get through or was ignored.
I remember seeing somewhere that Stoops really liked Thomas as a CB, so I think there is a good chance he starts there. Also, Brown said today that they will probably play 8 WRs. Barring any injuries thats almost everyone we have (10). He also mentioned that the running game could see sets with 1,2, or 3 backs in it, dependent on situations of course. It sounds to me like there is plenty of opportunity for most all these guys to earn some time on the field.
Clemmons, Sanders, and George will stay at RB, the rest are up in the air. I would guess that Taylor might move to LB and Mobely could get a look at TE. Thomas can play RB, CB, or WR and I'm guessing he'll go wherever he's needed most. If I had to guess right now I would think that Clemmons and Kemp will both get a hefty share of the carries this year.
I would think that Whitlow will get a strong look at WR, he's a good QB but doesn't have all the tools Brown will need at that position and with our need at WR he'll be able to help the team more. I've also heard that Lowery will get at look at WR.
Well is everybody so quick to annoint Clemons look I like the kid but Ray Sanders and George looked very very good last year. they averaged over 5 yards a carry
To be honest I haven't seen enough of him but he seemed to be more of a powerful, between the tackles kind of runner. More smash-mouth style about him. I admittedly could be totally off base though.

But, Brown and Scott don't have problems with that type of runner if they can catch and block. Clemons can do both and has (or at least did before his injury) breakaway speed. I am trying to figure out how being a bruising runner who can catch and block and has breakaway speed will not fit into this system.
One thing for sure the RBs had better be able to contribute in the passing game. Chad Scott was pretty point blank about that during an interview today. Said if they can't catch, they won't be playing.
Left Cunningham off WR list. Any of the kids mentioned throughout this thread could be potential stars in this offense. I guess we will just have to wait and see. We have a plethora of young kids coming back this year with SEC experience and I believe they will thrive under the new coaches quickly.

A member of the staff said that Clemmons was the only SEC caliber back on our roster, that is why Kemp was such a priority even with Thomas already a solid commit.
Mobley has talent, but I don't see him being a rb in this system, he's stout enough to play te and would see the field more there than at FB. Taylor would have been an lb had he stayed with Bama.
Sanders and George will finish their time as rb's rather than spend time teaching them new positions.

He'll never get on the field as a TE. Let the kid transfer if he can't be a back in this system. Would be best for everybody involved. But I'm not convinced yet that he can't be a power back in this system. Might need him for short yardage situations.

Mobley has good size and speed to be a strong or free safety and if he put on 10 lbs could be a solid LB.. Kids cut out of granite and someone that athletic needs to find the field somewhere.. He's a good RB, but, appears a bit impatient when he gets the ball.. I like that he hits the hole hard, but, sometimes he'd be better suited to allow his blockers to make there blocks and then take it to one side or the other.. He got by in HS on sheer athleticism, but, if the coaches could teach him a little better technique and how to use his blockers better, the kid could be a stud.. In HS, he litterally ran people over with his strength and had enough speed to break some runs for big gains.. Alot tougher to do that at the SEC level, when guys are bigger and stronger than he is and just as fast.. as far as catching the ball out of the backfield, i think he's fine doing that, but, he's not the best we'll have at getting in space and juking a couple of guys for big yardage.. I love him as a short yardage back though. Think he could thrive in that scenario..
