Reese Phillips is a Wildcat... Commitment #3

  • I haven't seen him since he was a sophomore, and he wasn't at QB at the time. Nice looking athlete though, and IMO capable of playing another position if it doesn't work out at QB.

  • I said on an earlier thread after Kentucky offered Reese if you get him you will be lucky, well it appears you’re going to be lucky! Reese is a great QB and a heck of an athlete that is a fierce competitor. In his sophomore year I watched him have to be carried off the field after a playoff game. He played every single play and collapsed a couple of minutes after the final horn. There is no quit in him and he has an amazing arm.

    Anyone interested should come down and watch Reese this year. We actually have a scrimmage against Ridgeland out of Ringgold GA on Saturday Aug 11th. Ridgeland is a top program in GA and has 5 star Safety Vonn Bell who is rated as the number 7 pick overall out of GA, this will be a game type scrimmage. The teams want to play each other but GA and TN are on opposite years in their two year bid cycles making it very difficult, so for now the scrimmage is it. Should be exciting as Reese and Vonn are friends through the recruiting/camp process, Vonn’s told Reese he will pick him off and Resse has told Vonn he will throw at him.

    Also we will host a 7 on 7 tournament July 14th starting at 9am est. if there are any local Wildcat fans you should come out and watch, it’s free.

    Thanks for the info. Is it at SM or Ringgold? Sounds like a good excuse to come down from Kingsport. There was a really nice article in one of the Tennessee high school magazines last year about SM and the effort the community made to make their program happen. I saw them in the TSSAA finals against the school from Jackson (Trinity Christian or something like that?). I was very impressed with them. They fell behind something like 21-7 early but didn't panic and then hit the gas to win going away by something like 56-28. Very well coached.

  • Arm loks solid, decent athleticism and good pocket presence. Has a couple of good-looking HS wideouts (7 & 9) to target also. Seems to be a solid pickup. Welcome aboard.

    You will be surprised how many people in blue and white will start showing up at those events.

    I'm going to have to plan a trip down there myself to cover Reese.

  • He really throws the ball easily, not at all forced. Did have to put a little mustard on the longest ones.

    This scrimmage will be at Ridgeland which is in Ringgold, GA but its not very far from Chattanooga at all.
