RIP Rick. Was one of the best competitors. I loved when the Cats played his teams.

What was wrong with him?

A truly top shelf coach who also had the rare ability to connect with his players as well as the fan base. I was a fan since he was at Ball State and would pull for him, except against the 'Cats.
It's a sad thing. Rest in peace Coach

He suffered from problems of the heart. He has had more than 1 heart attacks and that was why he had taken the year off from coaching at St. Louis. I remember him when KY played and beat his Utah teams in the tourney. He was both funny and gracious and did any of you know while at Utah for all those years he lived in a hotel room because he didnt like to do house work and the maids came in everyday and made his bed and cleaned up after him. He said that in interviews many times and I always got a big laugh from that. God bless you Rick and RIP.

He said he did not want to buy a house because he might get fired and he wanted to be able to move as soon as he did. lol

He was one of the best who had to work with the lesser of talent his whole life.

Majerus was a true original who had great respect for UK basketball and its tradition. Really, really loved the game of basketball.

He'll be missed.

For those that don't know, Majerus was the one that gave Glenn "Doc" Rivers his nickname at Marquette.

Thats true he did sat that but the thing about the not liking housework he said several times also but never the less he will be missed and he was a funny guy and good coach.
