I was reading an article from CoachCal.com and this Pitino quote slapped me in the face...
“They infiltrate our arena. We don’t infiltrate their arena.”
CRY BABY!!!
Here's the full note under that same subtitle in the article...
For a coach that’s played on both ends of the rivalry, Pitino pointed out a unique difference from the fans of UK and Louisville.
“You know, the only difference I see in the game is, every year … I would feel there were 3,000 to 5,000 Kentucky fans in Freedom Hall, in the Yum! Center. Blue all over the place.”
Louisville’s administration wasn’t pleased that a chunk of U of L fans gave up their seats to Kentucky fans a couple years ago. There’s no telling how much blue will dot the Yum! Center on Saturday, but Pitino wasn’t bothered by it, noting that it’s a much bigger sin to a UK fan to give up tickets than a Louisville fan.
“That’s the only difference I see,” Pitino said. “They infiltrate our arena. We don’t infiltrate their arena.”
I have a problem with UK fans buying UofL season tickets just to see UK play there every other year against the dirty birds. Another thing Pitino should be thankful about is the fact that a lot of UK alums pitched in to help raise 'their' new home. Not allowing UK to schedule a home game there every year and blocking any attempt of an NBA franchise ever coming to Louisville is a clear signal that this arena was built solely for UofL and not for the good of the city of Louisville or the state of Kentucky. I can only hope that the New Madrid fault shakes it into the river.
Maybe Pitino doesn't want to go to Rupp for his second and third round games this year. Then I am sure that the NCAA can send IU to Rupp and we can throw garbage on their fans when they get into the parking lot. Will never forget how UK fans were treated in Bloomington last year, nor how the UK players were cursed and showered with racial hatred during and after the game. That series needed to be ended and the truth about how the Indiana fans were acting needs to be brought into light by the media.

I heard that press conference. It smacks of the same remarks that Strong made about Big Blue nation. To me it was just a challenge to the dirty birds fans to keep their tickets, travel and try to become the fan base that UK has become today. Problem is there is only 1 "Big Blue Mist".
Go Cats!
