Ridge Wilson.....

  • Some ominous rumblings on Twitter re Ridge Wilson and an arrest. His days as a Wildcat are over if true.

    Jeremy Grey

  • Arrested in Louisville for drug trafficking.

    bigbluerules

  • This is getting ridiculous. Kick him off the team and move on. I do not know what is going on recently.

Well, I am having a hard time seeing the positive side of your senior, starting OLB getting arrested on felony drug trafficking charges...

  • This crap happens everywhere (look at UGA), I don't really think its out of the ordinary. It seems like every year we are hit with something out of nowhere.

Just kick him off and move on.

Dupree is going to be a better player anyway.

No, not really. There's not a single felony drug trafficking on the list. Matter of fact, I don't think there's a felony on the list.

  • I agree, thank God we have him coming up anyway. But it does hurt depth at that position. Maybe Tim Patterson will be ready to go, but he is also good buddies with Ridge Wilson.

    Agree with this action!!!

If due process proves he's guilty, he should be gone and we move on. No excuse for this to be tolerated.

    Big Ugly

  • You would think a Senior would be smarter than that, but, I guess not. Sucks for the team, but he should be smarter. JMO, but there's another scholarship for this class.

Exactly what I was thinking. Now we can get Dupree in their nearly full time. I'm really not worried about this. I didn't think Ridge was that good in the first place.

Are you being serious DA? Are you trying to say that the 20 arrest that UGA has had last couple of years is not as bad as ONE player having a felony issue?

I have no idea what you are trying to say.

  • As I was typing this Ridge's mug came on the news. Extremely embarrassing.

    tWhit

  • I'm saying that a felony drug arrest is much more serious than a bunch of PI's and bar fights. I'm also saying that not everyone does this (has as serious offense as this), it's not a minor offense. UT and TCU (last couple of weeks) would be a better example. UGA did not have a single arrest last year.

    DACats86

  • I used UGA as an example but I thought Richt was suspending a lot of players recently. Is that not the case? I am sure there was a reason for the suspension.

  • I wonder what the facts are - not that it matters. However, in KY, the transfer of just 1 (that's right, just one) pill that is considered a narcotic from one person to another is considered "felony drug traffiicking". There doesn't even need to be an exchange of cash for the pill.....

That said, I have no idea what the specifics of Wilson's case are, and could be much worse then the scenario I mentioned. But I'd like to know all of the facts here before rushing to judgment just yet.

And either way - from a PR perspective it makes him and the University look really bad......

Agreed. Either way, UK looks bad, and Ridge looks even worse.

Richt has really cracked down the last couple of years. After that article I linked above, he instituted a policy that anyone arrested is automatically (and permanently) off the team. It has worked.

Those saying that Dupree is a better player - I agree. But, Dupree will be a true-sophomore without a lot of playing experience, where Ridge would have been a 5th-year senior. You're fooling yourself if you don't think this is going to hurt.

Dupree is the better player/talent but it will hurt for sure depth wise. I don't know how anyone can argue that.

Also Ridge was never redshirted although he should have been. This would have been his fourth year in the program.

    Typical "LOD" post.

Typical sunshine-pumper post, namecalling rather than discussing facts. Distraction, distraction, distraction!

Do you really need me to detail all that has occured thus far this offseason to prove my post was in fact correct and accurate? Do you have any counter information that makes my assertion less accurate? A cornerback dropped out (Trimble), another kicked off (Hall) leaving us among the thinnest and least experienced at that position in all college football, presumed starting QB had his face smashed in (Smith), most prominent and important assistant coach leaves the staff (Tee), and now a starting D linemen arrested for felony drug charges.

You got any sunshine to pump over all that, sparky?
