2nd that!! Well said and every word was the truth! Take that to the bank.

  • By and large, Joker Phillips and his staff recruited and signed kids that simply weren't good enough to win games in the SEC. His classes have been ranked at the bottom of the league since he's been at UK. Yup, I've had no problem calling that out and maintaining that if UK is ever going to turn the corner, they need a staff in place that can sign considerably highler caliber players that the current staff has proven they can do. If not, they need a staff that can coach kids up better than their peers. This staff could do neither. It was obvious, and I had no problem pointing it out. Sorry that the truth was/is so hurtful.

that was not any of our points. The point was that you go out of your way to point out this and point out that that you think is wrong with our football program or recruiting, sometimes posting your opinions in places where it isn't even necessary. Then you post something about a certain player NOT being UK caliber, and then saying that since MSU and Georgia have now shown interest in him the he IS SEC caliber and him badmouthing us is supposed to hurt us? You got called out using your own words, and all you can do is be defensive instead of owning up to it.

Shouldn't have mattered. Eric was 100% correct in his assessment of the situation. Minter has ran off SEVERAL posters with his unending bullsh*t. Whenever someone stands up to him, or calls him out, ya'll edit or delete it and it isn't right. He shouldn't be able to put down the program on a consistent basis as he does. Instead, ya'll allow him to do whatever the hell he wants, and it's rather stupid in all honesty. You're running off paying customers by allowing him (and his other compatriots) to post unchecked. Isn't this site about making money? Yet, while you're allowing him and others to put down the program, it drives people off and no money gets made. Hell, Matt May is even sick of him for God's sake!

The language used certainly mattered. Look, you can attack arguments and posts, but not people. It's that simple.

If you want to get into a back-and-forth with someone that gets personal, you can do it via private message and save the rest of the board from having to deal with it.

If you want to pick apart someone's argument and tell them why they're wrong - that's fine. Just don't call them names while doing it.

We don't let anyone post unchecked - that's the whole point ... and it's why so many people are leaving other boards and joining ours.

Do we want paying customers, sure. Yes. 100%. Absolutely. But if those paying customers attack other posters they'll be gone - addition by subtraction. If there is one particular poster you don't like, all you have to do is hit the ignore button and you won't have to read any of their posts.

There are "Negative Nancies" on every site. The best way to get rid of them is have all the positive posters drown (type) them out. Don't feed the trolls. Don't reply to their posts, etc. Start a positive thread for each of their negative threads. Lots of ways to do it without calling someone a censored censored

  • Kevin, I don't know if you've noticed or not, but this little pissing contest (won by our boy Eric btw) brought a bunch of people over to watch. Former posters. Good posters. I think maybe it behooves tcp to let us use minter as our little whipping boy. It will drive traffic. Lol

this! tcp is dying because of the product that's being put up. allowing posters like minter and others to rule the roost is the death blow. go ahead and ban paying customers kevin. you ban enough and this site and your guys jobs will disappear. way to go warmother!

Look, this is your community. If you want the community to have a certain tone and tenor then I say help set it. And it isn't dying, either. It's growing. Much more quickly now that it has in the last year - and faster than any of our competitors.

If you want it to be more positive, then be more positive. We're here to moderate for language, attacks, etc., but we would love for you guys to set the tone.

The poster you guys complain about has lots of negative things to say about the football program, the AD, etc. That said, I haven't seen him attack a poster or call anyone a name. If he does that, I'll take appropriate action. If he did that and I missed it, I'm sorry. It wasn't intentional. I don't know the guy from Adam and couldn't pick him out of a lineup. And if he posts what warmother posts - especially AFTER folks were asked to tone it down - then he'll get banned, too.

BTW, warmother isn't a paying customer - not that that matters. He canceled over a year ago.

If the tone isn't going the way you want to, be a part of the solution. If there is a poster that pushes your buttons, use the ignore feature. Start new topics.

Some did a nice job using said posters own words to make a great point. Just didn't need to call him a censored while doing it. That's all.

Best way to stop posters you don't like from ruling the roost is ruling it yourself and encouraging others to do the same - which is what we're trying to do here.

This is gonna be a crazy time with hoops starting and a coaching search. SHould be lots of excitement, anticipation and positive buzz around the programs. Should be a great run. I hope you'll continue to be part of it.

  • Best part about this thread? 95% of the poster being critical are the ones that were predicting 8-10 wins this season back in August. They dismissed anyone that didn't agree with them. How telling.

I actually went back and looked at the posts Brad, and a whopping 3 people out of almost 25 people predicted 8 or more wins, and one of them had the name CatCard202 so he doesn't really count, so that'll be 2. Alpha said 8 and BigBlueDawg predicted 7 or 8 with a bowl win. So it would only be 1 person who said 8, and the title of the thread was fearless forecast and did call for a bold prediction. So there ya go. Your argument has once again proved wrong Minter. You said 95% of us complaining were calling for 8-10 wins...... well there was only 1 calling for 8 and NOBODY was calling for more than that.

How many times do you have to be slapped in the face with factual statements before you stop posting nonsense?

It's like a shooting gallery and you are some weird little duck that keeps popping up and saying stupid things before taking another shot to its little rubbery head.

Kevin's platitudes aside, unchecked posting is exactly what is allowed here. The same tired, repetitive, disrespectful, and factually-incorrect attacks are posted time after time by the same posters. Any attempt at objective or (gasp) positive posting is met with derision and ridicule. Ridiculous nicknames for administrators can spawn 3 page threads with vehement defense of that nickname.

    EDIT: Please you inbox. Thx.
