Well, the story keeps changing....WKYT reporting Strickland never had his license properly reinstated from his 2007 DUI in Tennessee and thus should have never been granted a Kentucky license. Given that, he can't have his Kentucky license reinstated until that case is cleared in Tennessee.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says while Strickland met his Kentucky requirements, his license remains suspended here because he failed to properly reinstate his license in Tennessee after a 2008 DUI case there. Transportation officials say before he can get his license restored in Kentucky, Strickland has to clear his Tennessee case.
If the state issued him a valid driver's license even though they shouldn't have, then I don't think it's very serious. He could have easily not known the thing in Tennessee was unresolved, especially since he wasn't charged with driving on a suspended license when he got that last DUI. Regardless, he can't keep getting into trouble and keep his job.
