If I'm a Lakers fan and I just want another run at the title before Kobe is gone I sell out for one year but give myself a couple of future pieces. This is all severely hypothetical but it's all possible with the salary cap and fit in my opinion and Bill Simmons and others have mentioned it.
1st trade Andrew Bynum for Dwight Howard straight up. Magic get the 2nd best Center to replace the best Center in the NBA. Lakers ditch all those nagging injury concerns.
2nd trade Pau Gasol for Chris Bosh straight up. Pau has shown he cannot be the guy that works around the free throw line in the playoffs, he's a true low post scorer at this point in his career. Bosh has some limitations but the free throw line jump shot is not one of them and coupled with Howard and Kobe he's going to get better looks than even in Miami where he's forced to be the force on the low post, which isn't really his game.
Free agent signing Steve Nash
Nash is likely going to go somewhere other than Phoenix to try and win a title and two of the best teams in the league in the Lakers and Heat need a stud point. This will require an overpay from the Busses to sway him from Miami but it can be done.
I could totally see all this happening, and as much as I hate it, the Lakers winning a ring next year and contending the year after. Beyond Gasol and Bynum though the Lakers just dont' have much trade bait. So far this year they've ditched 2 1st rounders, the rights to switch 1st rounders, and Derrik Fisher to acquire Ramon Sessions who wasn't the answer and is not likely to be back. If the Lakers are going to make moves it's going to have to be player for player because they don't really have any draft picks left to deal.

The Magic would take Bynum for Howard in a flat second. Howard is worth more than that but with everyone knowing that Howard is leaving Orlando anyway Bynum would be by far the best offer they're going to get if they could even get that.
As far as Gasol for Bosh I think the Heat would do that. If they don't win the title someone has to take the fall for it and the only two real candidates at this point are Spoelstra and the weakest of the big 3. It works for both teams as Miami needs a big to go rebound and score tough at the basket buckets both of which Gasol is better at than Bosh.

Saw that. Anything I really think the Bulls have to offer the Lakers though I don't think they'd take. Bulls would gladly get rid of Boozer and something for him though but the Lakers would be stupid to take that. I'm sure the Lakers would prefer Noah but I don't see anyway that the Bulls would give Noah up for Gasol.

You must be a laker fan.
Not everything is in laker's advantage right now. Gasol sounds like he wants to play in Chicago, not LA. Meaning he wants to leave. That puts pressure on the Lakers not Bulls. Also, it's not like bulls has said anything about wanting Gasol.
Second, Bynum has no idea what he wants to do. Like others have said, they probably won't give him the money. Meaning, Lakers won't exactly has the pieces to make a trade for Howard.

Rondo having a heck of a night tonight in game 2 against the Heat.
He has 30pts already and is looking tired as he has played the entire game or close to it already. Been extremely aggressive, especially in the first half, and shooting very well for him. Should end up with another triple-double or dang close to it.
