He is both a very good coach and better still a very good man. His season at SJSU ended last night late, believe I know because I watched it. I hope the fans at UK will like the way he runs a football program and w/o saying its a done deal I will say this much, if a couple of things can be worked out he will be our next coach but those couple of details are not minor things and it has nothing to do with the HCs salary. It has something to do with future plans for the whole football program which I believe has been a fly in the ointment in the past. So those of you who want this hire keep your fingers crossed that those things can be worked out so we can get both a good coach and man.

And what are those major details you're referring to? Football budget? Assistant coach salaries? Facilities upgrades?

I agree with above posters? Why arent the hangups already addressed? What the heck could they be? Surely to God Mitch knows how other programs are set up and what the head coaches need? Did he listen to Brooks? This is a bit unsettling unless this guy asked for something so far out in left field that Mitch had to figure out where to find and answer..

It's a bit unsettling to me that there are rumors that MacIntyre is out of the picture now. I hope Mitch didn't shy away from what MacIntyre was asking for.

Can you elaborate sleepydog? I am guessing it is what others have mentioned regarding recruiting budget, assistant coach salaries, etc. Anything you think that is off the radar?

Regarding a rumor that MacIntyre is now off the board, there is no way it would fall apart that fast. At least I hope not! Bring on the MacAttack!

These "snags" in the MacIntyre negotiation are like all the other rumors from this search. Not true. NOBODY knows what is going on. I doubt that we are "negotiating with anybody"

Take it FWIW, but UK Linebacker Pancho Thomas just Tweeted out "Stoops!!" Could be he was told something, could be wishful thinking, who knows? Again, with a grain of salt

Good question, but where I get my info wouldnt go into detail what things needed to be worked out. This is purely a guess but I would say it has something to do with the recruiting budget as 1 thing and the other I have no idea. My buddies tell me as much as they can and I dont push but when I talk to them again and that should be later tonight(monday) or sometime tommorow I will try to get more info. But something is definately up and coming down soon, how soon I dont know yet.

Hop, believe what you want and I respect your opinion I know what I have been told by people who I have played ball with and have been friends with for almost 40 years. Could they be misinformed yes, do I believe they are misinformed NO. Everyone who claims to have a source including me have different reasons for putting info out there, my reason is that I think the info is solid and other people might like to see what could be headed this way, thats it nothing else. If my guys turn out to be misinformed I will be the 1st one to write an apology for what turned out to be wrong. In any case my friends are my friends now and will still be my friends whether they turn out to be right or wrong.
