Rupp Arena New Locker Room Pics

I was at Rupp this past weekend and was able to take a tour of the new locker room that is under construction. The plan is to have the new locker rooms ready for the first official home game on November 16th, but as you see from the pics they have A LOT of work still to do. The locker room won't be completely finished, but at least functional at that time.
The new locker room area where the players get ready and film room is model after the same set up they have at the Joe Craft center. In fact, many of the things they did throughout the Craft Center have been brought over to Rupp's new locker room area.
This first pic is the entrance where the 2012 Championship Trophy will sit and have the Final Four Floor as well.

Actual locker room area where the players will get ready. Very, very similiar to the locker room at the Joe Craft Center.

Media/Film area where they can watch film pre-game or at half time. It has the exact same set up as what you have seen at the Craft Center and in the ESPN All Access specials when the players are doing the improv stuff in the 3rd episode.

Shower area with hot and cold tubs where the players can get treatment immediately after the game at Rupp and not have to go back to the Craft Center to hit the tubs.

Lounge and recruiting area. Players, recruits, and guests will use this area pre & post game. The room is larger enough to host up to about 40+ people, so the football staff will be able to bring recruits into Rupp pre-game to show them around.

New donor and hospitality room. The room has been expanded and added new bathrooms right inside the donor room instead of across the hall. They have also knock down one of the walls and put in windows looking into the team hallway and locker room entrance for the players.

I did see it but didn't take a pic of it. They actually had to cut the size of the media room by about half to make more room for the donor room. Sucks for you!!

It looks like they are running a tad bit behind but wow, just another recruiting tool for UK to use. What I like most is the size and the fact that the new football staff should be able to use the upgrades to help in football recruiting as well. Now UK needs to do major upgrades with our football program, some are wanting a new arena but I think we rennovate Rupp and put that extra money towards making our football program a lot better.

Sounds like it will be the Baylor game before its ready. They will have 3 games where its not ready for use.
