SC's Bruce Ellington giving up football to play only basketball

Ellington earned Freshman All-SEC honors in football, gaining 707 all-purpose yards this year. He was South Carolina's second-leading scorer in basketball, averaging 11 points in 24 games. As a Kentucky fan, I'm glad he chose basketball!

Good for UK football for sure. He doesn't have a career in either probably except on the 2nd tier pro level(Arena, Canadian football, CBA, Euro basketball...)

if I recall correctly, this year he took a short pass and turned the corner and jetted down the sideline untouched. VERY happy that he's given up the pigskin

I though he had a future in football. Definitely doesn't in basketball. Way to small. At least in football he could be a PR and KR. Possibly even be turned into a DB. Great for UK football though I agree, dude could flat make plays at the college level.

Terrible decision. He has little future as a pro bball player, but could be a very good ST player in the NFL. And, could work the slot as well.

Wasn't this the player who Superior got all pissed off at a columnist who wrote about the player's sport decision/choice or something like that? He wouldnt do his press conference until the writer left or something?

I don't know if Horn's departure will have an effect, although if he's picking based on the lesser dickishness of the two coaches, the chances of the Cocks hiring a basketball coach who could take that title from Spurrier is about .000000000000001 in a trillion.
