SEC BBall Looking Bright

  • 4 of the top 10 in the 2013 class are going to SEC schools. And that's just so far. UK get the Harrisons and Florida has 2 of the top 10. I think some UK-UF wars is great news for UK. Strength of schedule, preparing for tough games in the tourney, bringing the spotlight on the SEC so maybe some more schools can get in on it. A really good SEC only makes UK stronger.

I agree. Think about this, if Randle picks the Cats and Wiggings reclassifies then we would sign the 1,2,3,&4 ranked players in the 247 class. Then if Young decides to play in Lex the 8th ranked player. That's half of the top ten to UK and 7/10 to the SEC. Crazy.

  • Yeah that's a lot for the brain to handle. I'm just happy we got the twins for now lol Think about this one... We get everyone you mentioned and just think if they had made college players play 2 years in the last agreement. Just call off the 2 seasons and send us the banners in the mail.

Yeah, that team could go 80-0.

  • its crazy when u think about it...can u imagine if we win the title this season bring in that class and what happens if harrow or cauley-stein or wiltjer arent ready for the pros...we can possible have 2 starters from a national title team moved to 6th and 7th man...amazing what cal is so close to doing

  • I hate to say it for fear of a jinx and I hate tooting our horn but we're on the verge of a mini dynasty. If Cal stays 9 more years and things keep rolling as they have been I don't think 5 titles in that span is out of the question. That would make 6 titles in 10 years. And I don't think Cal will be staying 9 years. More like 3 or 4.

  • He's got 8-10 more years left here

    We don't want to jinx,

but cal can stay here for 10 years.

However, something will taper. Waiting on twin announcement, only to then go watch Wiggins play.

I mean.. middle of tourney, he went out to watch a recruit play.

He can't keep up that level of recruiting for next 10 years. some of it will calm down. I think he is hoping some of this reputation stuff would pick up recruits automatically. Which it is happening.

I was reading the comment section of another site and a UNC fan compared Williams record with Cals and said Cal only had 1 championship while Williams has 3 in the past 10 years. He didnt mention that Cal has only coached 3 years at UK so far and didnt count this years team and the beginngs of a all but assured one in 2013. I told him to get back to me after just 3 more years and see if Roy has more rings than Cal. This is a very exciting time in UK basketball and however many years Cal has left here I know UK fans will be in heaven during those years.

  • Roy is the king of getting kids to stay on to benefit himself. Cal does it with young guys. Roy isn't half the coach.

I really enojoyed watching Missouri play this past season and I think they will have a good season this year even if they have a lot of transers trying to blend together although those transfers have talent. I would watch Arkansas in the next 2 to 3 years they could be very good also as long as Anderson gets the players he hopes to get, they will also be fun to watch. The SEC is going to be near the top of the big six conf. within the next 2 or 3 years and might be the best if it wasnt for the ACC who is getting much better with Syracuse,Pitt and Notre Dame climbing onboard with Duke,UNC,NC. State and Fla. Statef.
