He was waiting to do interviews today and laughing and smiling. UK doesn't allow injured players to do interviews either, but I guess it's possible.

I saw it as well. If he's been injured, he either didn't realize it until after practice today (which, hey, with adrenaline flowing and what not, it's unlikely but I guess it's possible) or it didn't happen until after practice.

We won't know for sure until tomorrow at 11:30 or so when Joker Phillips is available after practice.

  • if so time for Gainer to make his move to #2, at least i hope that is what happens anyway.

also hope Clemons does not look back and stakes claim to the #1

For what it's worth, CoShik Williams is still ahead of Gainer on the depth chart.

  • Whichever RB's play on Saturday, they need to protect the football. IMO we can win with a decent, grind-it-out running game, but we'll have trouble if we give U of L a couple short fields through turnovers. I imagine we'll see A LOT of Clemons on Saturday. The others I just don't know how good they are with ball security. I know that was Gainers problem in the past. We MUST take care of the football on Saturday.

  • I hope Sanders is okay. It would suck for us to lose him to injury, surely the LOD and those who dislike the kid would admit that. Injuries are never good for UK.

This. If we create turnovers but protect the ball ourselves we win 24-13.

I love the way Koshick runs the ball. Given, he hasn't seen many snaps against tougher D's but he runs hard and IMO has great break away speed. I really hope Sanders is ok and only misses minimal time. Regardless of me wanting Clemons to start, we need Sanders too IMO. Although I still think that Clemons and Gainer could potentially give a great chain of pace, (kinda like the thunder n lighting deal) the problem tho, is Papaw (whom I will always love) was never big on spreading out PT, and that IMO is a bad habit Joker learned from him. But, Joker is still learning to be a head coach, and people must realize that and accept he has a learning curb. No one and I mean no one could be our head coach right now and care more about this program than him. I just wish people would lighten up and give this man the necessary time to come into his own as our HC.

IIRC Williams looked very good when Locke was banged up at Miss State last season. Interested to see what he does if he gets some totes Saturday.

That's right Chris! I had forgotten about the Miss. St. game. The kid runs hard and has great speed and awareness. We have such depth at RB IMO and I would love to see more guys involved in the offense whether it's screens or multi back sets or whatever. I know it's hard to distribute snaps to so many backs tho, but I am happy that Williams may get an opportunity. Let's all hope he makes the best of it!
