Did anyone else think he was over the line when he shoved his player, basically hitting him in the back? Then he literally got into the kids face and screamed bloody murder for almost an entire timeout. Anyone know what the kid did? I think he fouled but I didn't see if he did anything to deserve that kind of outburst. I'm fine with yelling and getting in a kids face. I draw the line at getting physical with a kid. My opinion is that if a coach can't compose and control himself enough not to strike a kid he shouldn't be coaching.

I saw it but couldnt figure out why he lost his cool with the kid. He did hit him in the back although some would call it a shove. It was way over the top and I agree with another poster that Woods will face some kind of punishment. I know if that was my son he wouldnt be playing for Woods any longer. Woods just kept going after the poor kid for quite a long time and I really felt for the guy. I didnt even see him do anything wrong, but I could have missed it. Please let us know if you saw something that the kid did to warrant such a reaction.

First of all, I am not a Sean Woods fan by any means. He was by far the wrong hire, they should have hired Donnies assistant at Morehead. But, taking it to this extreme is ridiculous. He put his hand on the kids back and pushed him. It was in the heat of the moment. You all act like he took a baseball bat and whacked him on the side of the head with it. What is this world coming to? If doing what he did causes you to lose your job Id say theres a good chance no coach coaching right now should have theirs. This is just another example that most peoples opinions come from the media. They try to pour fuel on a flame and make a big deal about everything and others get brainwashed by that and then try to make up their "own" prospectives about the situation. Is Sean Woods dramatic? Heck yes. Does he talk way too much? What UK guy from the 90s doesnt? But give me a break...clearly it was a slow news night.

In the heat of the moment a college caliber coach should be able to control himself and not lose his mind. This isn't an isolated incident and he got physical. That is unacceptable on every level. And don't blame the media. I saw it in real time and made my judgment then without a news cycle filter. I also said at the time "Woods will have some explaining to do with some Morehead admins tomorrow". I think he should be made to apologize publicly to the kid and never touch another student again. One more chance and that's it. I'm a huge Unforgettables and Woods fan but if this week has taught me anything it's that Sean Woods is an immature idiotic embarrassment.
And to the wizard below you, yes, I draw my conclusion from watching a coach push a player and jump around and get in his face like a 15 year old thug. I wonder if either of you even watched the game or the incident in question.

From what I saw of it as I watched it live Woods seemed to get on him about the foul he committed. Then the player began mouthing back at Woods about something and when Woods yelled at him the player started getting up in Woods face and kinda shouldered Woods in the chest. That's when Woods really came unglued and I believe the shove happened then and yes Woods continued after him at that point. In my opinion if a player tries to get physical with the coach, which is just how saw it, I don't have a problem with Woods reaction. If I were the coach and a player tried to get physical with me he would be suspended at minimum and maybe off the team if I thought it was severe enough.

Sean Woods Overboard
