So do we still sign 25?

  • With 9 slots left and only two weeks to NSD, do we still sign a full class?

  • Yes we do. Just sit back and enjoy the ride because the next 2 weeks is going to be really fun. This will be the best UK football recruiting class ever. We will end up with a top 25 recruiting class. Lots of 4 stars about to ink with us.

  • Yep..to both^^ McWilson,Hatcher,Timmons,Reed,Hearns,Badet,Kemp,James Clark, possibly Taj Williams,Corey Smith...it will go something like this...and UK will have a shot at a TOP 25 class.

    Well I went to church tonight as I always do. And I do pray that UK has a top 25 class.

    I know this for sure UK has a ton of playing time to offer to these kids and next yr will be no diff.

    If we can start getting the top 3 star and 4 star players over the next few yrs UK can make a move up the ladder.

  • Hatcher, Reed, McWilson and either of these LBs, Kelsey, Hearns, Clark and the defense will be set... Any 3 of Samples, Timmons, Badet, Montgomery, and Grant, along with either Kemp or Iguebuike and the offense will be set... IMO, we have to have at least 3 WRs and at least 1 more DT, LB & RB. Anything more than that is gravy..

    I do think that is the key . We need to get a couple top LB's to commit to UK. We are getting the Dlinemen but we need some top LB's to commit.

  • If we don't sign 25 I'd say we get close, probably 23 If I had to guess. That gives us more wiggle room next fall...

    Many say we might get Hatcher but we may have seen this story unfold before.
    Timmons now has his long awaited and coveted OSU offer.
    Taj Williams is not visiting now so I wouldn't count on that one.
    Jojo Kemp really likes UK but can't seem to say no to the other guys.
    As for Samples, Reed, Hearns, White, McWilson & Igwebuike - all are committed elsewhere so they have to be flipped.

    To get all those guys would be the optimal scenario and of course, that is very unlikely. So we'll miss a few but those we sign will be very good prospects and will be counted on to improve the team. Let's just keep our fingers crossed and hope the staff can weave some magic.

    Agreed RV, that's what I was thinking, since we will have to flip and fight off so many big dogs 25 will be tough but is possible.

    Do you have any idea when Badet will choose? Thanks

  • I really can't believe Timmons has let OS lead him along this long. Timmons could explode in Browns system if he comes in with the right attitude and work ethic. If he doesn't choose UK I wish him well but at the end of the day I really don't think OS is his best option. If he chooses UK plays well and football doesn't work out he could almost name his job, he won't get that treatment at OS.

  • I really think we need a MLB with Avery gone after next year. Pancho I guess could be okay but hoping for better...either from him or a new guy.

  • Agree with RV. UK will sign 25 only if they are able to get the kids at the top of the list, and several of those are looking doubtful at this juncture. They still have the 85 limit issue to contend with (depending on how much attrition there is between now and the summer, and UK will graduate a tiny senior class next year. Stoops should add a few very good players between now and signing day, but I don't anticipate they'll sign kids just to sign a full 25.

  • Agree scalf... I'll be honest I like Pancho's toughness, ability to fill against the Iso and strength at the point but his athleticism worries me.

    Josh Forrest to TE
    Jalen Whitlow to WR
    Ashley Lowery & Daron Blaylock to OLB

  • lam and quag...I see you guys post a lot and you seem to know what's going on. Just wondering if you have good info on these position changes. Position changes are always very interesting to me.

  • Nothing earth shattering. Just what I read I just happen to read alot. Tiller is built like a wr long and range. I think he could flourish there. I cant see Lowery moving to OLB like everybody is saying. hes not big enough and he is a jr. I dont think Brause is moving to Te I think hes a kid thats going to get recruited over hes just not a fit anywhere.

    Upon accessing the roster and knowing what our O and D will be, I made those are projections and they are not from any inside info, just common sense. We will be putting speed on the field on defense so some Safeties would become LB, and some LB's would become D-line. The projections of Brause and Forrest are due to the lack of actual Y receivers that aren't Seniors and the obvious lack of recruitment of same in this class.I'm betting there are at least a couple on the entire roster that will see the handwriting on the wall after spring and will choose not to return or transfer elsewhere. And there are always a couple that have grade issues prior to fall enrollment. As to who any of these might be, I prefer not to speculate on individuals.

  • huge close for stoops with Hatcher and Timmons. Top 40 Class. My prediction is that we are challenginf for the east title in 2 years. FLA and GA here we come!
