Some New Coley Information

On another board a poster from FSU stated that Coley was trying to line up a OC job in the South Florida area. I think FIU and South Florida are still putting staffs together. That would make sense to me considering the patience Stoops showed Brown. It also would explain the delay in Stoops making a hire. People are also questioning the 2nd unfilled position. IMO it's a money issue. If Stoops dosen't roll out the bank for Coley then he will have more to spend on the DB coach.

Mario Cristobal (sp) has been mentioned on another site as a possibility of being a new staff member..stay tuned I guess..

It's not a money issue. He has to budget to hire whoever he wants.

I'm not sure how much I believe this. Why would Coley make a move from OC at Florida State to OC at South Florida or FIU? That's a downgrade in pay and exposure. Those schools can't pay him at the same level as FSU or UK (as an Associate HC or Recruiting Coordinator).

I don't know if I buy it either, but apparently he doesn't call the plays at FSU and likely will never get to. He may be looking to do so somewhere.

Their is no charge for this information. It is free to anyone who cares to read it...My opinion is Coley is like every other coach I know. He believes his system will work. That's why he is not satified with being the OC at FSU while Fisher calls the plays.

So listening to your train of thought why would Coley come to UK when Brown would be calling the plays?

I think I'd be happy with that scenario as a fan. But then again after Brown leaves in a couple of years if that is what happens I also wouldn't mind seeing Stoops hiring the next big shot thats already established his name as an OC. Not a guy that has been learning and will be calling plays for the first time. The reason though that I say I'd be happy with that scenario is that Coley is one heck of a recruiter from what I hear. It could be worth it and for all we know he could be a great OC as well.

I really wish we knew what was going on in his mind. We have a great staff already but he would round it out perfectly. He would be Stoops biggest recruit.

Yeah I would love to believe that but with the way he is upset with Jimbo about play-calling, would he really go right into the same situation? Even for more money?
