What has happened in Vol land. Nobody wants to go there.

Living here in the state of Tn it was amazing to see how many vols fans really believed that it was no one but Gruden who would be there coach. Hell they even suspended their $6M a year payment that supports academics to pony up for a new coach (and pay the buyouts!). If Strong has declined, and Jones goes to Colorado as being reported, and Dykes to Cal, who is next? Jimbo? Kiffen (hahaha)? Another ESPN guy, how about John Clayton? HA!!

They'll get somebody, because they have the money to spend, but it won't be who the fans want.

I agree it will be like Bielema at Arkansas, a good coach. however their fans will be disappointed (and I only use Bielema as an example as a name that no one was talking about, I have no clue how Arkansas fans feel about that hire).

Dykes would never be considered at UT.. They would not want another La Tech coach and go down that path again. Not that Dykes isn't a good coach, just that they know they'll be a laughing stock if they go that way and the UT fanbase would be in meltdown mode.. Gruden, Fisher, Gundy, Strong have all declined the UT job.. I think they'll go after Fedora next, if he declines, which is very possible and even likely, then they'll go after Jones and I think he will take it.. Not near the splash they would have liked, but, still a solid coach. Personally, I think they should look hard at McIntyre or Mora, but, don't think they will.. After all these turndowns, alot of fans are now clammoring for Petrino, but, I don't see Hart going down that road..

If UT wants a coach who will straighten up their players and really get behind them, then Sandusky's their man!
