Spurs

  • are fun to watch. There's some amazing passes and ball movement.

It's kind of interesting that they were the most boring team to watch 3-4 years ago, but now they are unselfish fun team to watch.

  • They can either feed the ball down low to Duncan and look to kick out to shooters or let Parker or Ginobili drive for layups or kick out to shooters. Having Gary Neal, Danny Green, Matt Bonner, Steven Jackson, Kawhi Leonard, Ginobili, Patrick Mills available to shoot on the preimeter, they are a tough team to defend.

  • The Spurs are a classy, smart, and very successful franchise. I would LOVE for Darius Miller to wind up on their team at the end of the first round.

That would be a perfect place for him. And the Spurs are the rare NBA franchise that actually values character. It wouldn't surprise me.

Never have liked the Spurs but I'd love to see them make it to the finals and take out the Heat.

the spurs have been playing the same way since pop has been there. fundamental unselfish bball

  • Manu Ginobili is a top 10 player in pro basketball. He doesn't have nearly the athletic ability of his peers, but he consistently makes big shots and great passes. He is also very good at letting the game come to him, instead of having to "get his". If he had the athletic ability of Gerald Wallace he would be unstoppable.

hrmmmm, i disagree on this. I watched their play, and it wasn't fast paced and a lot of ball movement.

You had tim duncan, you gave the ball to him a lot. Smart move, since he was off the chart good. Now that he isn't as strong and quick, it's more of ball movement and contribution from the bench.

agree with this, i think he also got much smarter over the years.

I remember he used to be somewhat athletic, and a lot of his players did come from some athleticism (and he used to force a lot more). Now, it's precision passes similar to what PGs do. That pass to Tony Parker, the lob pass that was like 15 ft ahead of where parker was was EXCELLENT.

Also, like you said he lets the game come to him. Excellent decision making.

what isn't true? they used to DREAD when spurs made it to the final. Now they are leading scoring team in the league.

They used to be known more for defense, and now probably more for offense.

I didn't say anything about scoring. I said fundamental unselfish ball. same thing they've done since pops been there

Very good player, winner, but not top 10 by any stretch of the imagination.

I agree. In his prime there is no doubt he was top 10. Not now though. Still a very good player. A cagey old vet. Knows everything there is to know.

The Spurs are different this year because Pop turned the team over to Parker instead of Duncan and Robinson before him. It's a different style but the guy saying they are unselfish is correct. Parker's points are up but his assists are up as well. Up from 4.something to 7.something. This is also the deepest team Pop has ever had so he's picked up the pace to take advantage of that. Pop adapting is just more evidence of what a great coach he is.

  • The difference this year is that the Spurs are healthy thats really it. They're playing the same way they did when they won championships before with Parker/Ginobili/Duncan. They also got some youth around those guys now. You that have developed.

  • Holy ish! Spurs are on a beat down mode.

    LOL, poor jazz.

(Btw, never said spurs used to be selfish, since some seem to think i did say that...)
