Just knew there was no other outcome to that game other than the Cardinals winning it. Truly amazing. Never quit.
Has to be crushing for Nats fans. And Reds fans. And Cubs fans.

My son and I were keeping an eye on it last night during my wife's birthday dinner. Once it was 6-4 I knew the Nat's were done. Was a great game.

I liked Cards teams in the 80s and 90s when Whitey and Torre were there. It didn't take long for me to start hating them when Abner LaDoubleday took over. I put them in the same category as UL, UT and the Yankees now.

I live in cincy but I've been a diehard cards fan all my life!! It's been a fun ride the last 2 years! Should be a good series with the giants

I'm with you Hop! Gotta love those Cards! I'm actually going to be in St Louis next weekend, too bad the games in St Louis are done on Friday. Should be a great place to catch a game on TV though right after the football game. We're going to see Packers vs Rams, longtime Pack fan, just got my new official Cobb jersey to wear to the game. Wonder how it will look with my red STL hat?

Gibson, Lou Brock etc. played for them, those were some exciting teams to watch especially when Brock got on base, you knew the steal was coming and when Gibson pitched the strikeouts were WOW. Most people dont remember those days but I have started keeping up with them over the past 2 years on and off.

Yep, gotta love those Cards!Tthe others in Southern Indiana, UL that is... not so much. I've been a Cardinals fan since I was one in "Little League". Loved Brock and Gibson too. Never say die!!!

Wasnt 1968 that the Tigers beat the Cards? I think the Cards beat Boston in 1967. I could be wrong, I am pretty old now.

The Cardinals were probably my second most favorite team in those days. Always a Cincinnati Reds fan.
McCarver, Cepeda, Javier, Maxvill, Shannon, Brock, Flood, Maris, Gibson, Carlton. That is all from memory, back 40+ years ago. Those were my baseball card collecting days. Knew all that nonsensical stuff.
