I myself would retain Summers..and Chuck Smith..a Ky Lb has led the SEC in tkls for what..3 or 4 straight years now? Sam Maxwell led the SEC in ints with 6 his sr year. Im just saying Smith has obviously coached up some lesser talent..look at Woodyard/Trevathan..a couple of 2 stars or no star kids that are playing in the NFL. Think of what Chuck could do with some 4 and 5 star guys? Plus..hes a Ky bred coach and decent recruiter..Id keep both Summers and Smith..clean house elsewhere. JMO.
Im down 4 whatever Stoops decides..Can not wait till kickoff next year!!

From what I can tell..Stoops is bringing James Coley and DJ Eliot with him. This is GREAT news. Both men are ELITE recruiters. Eliot is also a very good DE coach. Im guessing Stoops will in fact call the defense..ala Gary Patterson. What makes Eliot even more valuable is his ties to the fertile state of Texas. With the BIG 12 on the decline...more and more kids from the Lonestar state should jump at a chance to play in the SEC.
I wonder if our chances with the son of former Uk great TB George Adams didnt just go way up? Jamal is a 4 star 2014 db from carrollton,Tex.

If message boards are any indicator of a pulse of a fanbase they'd probably help Neal Brown pack.

I've never been enamored with that guy at all. Coley and recruiting (and his connections) are of far better service to this program than another video game gimmick guy.

Neal is a friend. Was my neighbor at uk when we were freshmen. But I just don't think he is the right fit right now. If stoops can hire several from fsu that he is familiar with then that helps smooth the transition. I'm betting that he doesn't know Neal.

Fsu ran/runs a primarily shotgun set with 1 tight end, 3 wr and a running back. Not all that different from what we were soing early in the year with smith. Even though Manuel was/is athletic they didn't use a lot of designed runs for him.

The offense fits maxwell and Patrick well.

Proset helps the D alot. UK can win with it but it has to have the players and a coach willing to open it up.

Every pro team runs it and for a reason.

Surely you don't expect them to pull the 5 star talent out of FL, GA,& TX to UK. If you do you are setting yourself up to be dissappointed. I mean AL,UGA,UF, LSU, AUB, ARK, aTm, UT, USCe, Big XII all ten schools. Not trying to be an ass but, lets start with the 3/4 star out of state and all the home grown talent.

Where on here did I say from those states..EDITED ....why don you read the whole thing and notparaphrase me...I said...just think what Chuck Smith could do with some 4 or 5 star talent..all i meant was look what hes done with 2 star talent..Stoops,Eliot, Coley WILL bring 4 star kids here..and when enough come..its not too hard to imagine that if Stoops turns it around..SOME 5 star kids could eventually come.

I have no problems with it but we have a very vocal portion of this fanbase that was "ruined" by AirRaid. They won't accept nothing less than that from what I can tell.

All I was saying If "you"(generalization) are expecting UK to get the 5* kids you probably won't be happy. History shows that it doesn't happen very often. Last 5* I can remember off the top of my head is Couch. I didn't call you anything or accuse you of anything. I just put my emphasis on the 5* kids.
