Strong and the Cards... getting spanked

  • It's been fun to watch... but it's not over yet.

Will they come back and save their big bowl hopes? shrug

  • They will come back and win.

I had to use the reverse jinx.

  • For all of the hoopla and hype from some about Cholly, if you give him his UaVel teams with the UK schedule, he's very likely swimming below the .500 mark for his career and facing a make or break year next year. Instead of being rumored for other head coaching jobs, people are speculating who UaVel will get to replace him and who will hire him as a DC.

  • Louisville is a pretty solid football team. Teddy Bridgewater is very good IMO. Nothing more. Taken advantage of an awful schedule. Got dismantled today.

  • Outside of UK (geez) and Temple..UL has been eaking out wins every week. I can understand an upset occurring in a given game, but UL has not looked dominate all year and aren't a top 10 team.

    - UNC
    - So Miss (really)
    - Pitt
    - Cincy
    - FIU
    - USF

All were back and forth if not decided in final possessions. UL defense has been very iffy all year which keeps games close until Bridgewater makes it happen. Until that squad improves...UL will be this same team next year.

  • The word you were looking for was "dominant".

  • Am I wrong in thinking that Strong had a better Defense with Kragthorpes players his first year? They've been pretty bad defensively this year. If it wasn't for Bridgewater they would have lost a ton of games this year. Opponents, bad opponents too have consistently put up 30 or more on them. I'd be a little hesitant if I was Arkansas.

You are not mistake. If I recall, he had more guys drafted his first two years than we had yet we won both games.

  • And this shows we're either at or close to rock bottom as the fandom is back to ragging on UL and how they play a crappy schedule. I despise UL as much as the next guy but that is a good football team. Would they win as much in the SEC?? Probably not but that goes for a ton of other teams that play outside the SEC as well. I was tracking the score at my son's game yesterday and took delight in seeing them get shellacked BUT that doesn't change the fact the UL program is way ahead of UK right now. A bitter pill to swallow indeed.

I'm speaking strictly as a huge football fan. The fact that we are very bad has zero to do with my opinion on Strong and UaVel. I'd be saying the same thing(s) if we were undefeated.

Wake Forest had a similar run and similar schedule back a couple of years and I believe got destroyed in the Bowl game by ul.

You are barking up the wrong tree, some UK fans hate ul all the time, if they're up or down doesn't matter so realize there is no bitter pill to swallow, its just hate with some. Hope that clears it up for you.
