  • 21 Points, 7 Rebounds, 1 Block, and 1 Steal in his NBA debut...against Tim Duncan.

And he has one of the most visible people in the hip-hop/rap profession dressing up for Halloween as him. Charlie would say, "WINNING"!

Davis is a once and a lifetime talent that we UK fans should cherish forever. The chances we see a talent like that again are slim to none, even with the abundance of HS talent Cal brings in.

    Wiggins?

Exception, plus he's a different type of player. I should have been more clear. A once in a lifetime post player. There, better? Lol

  • Your statement was right on Nate. What AD did may not be truly appreciated for years and year to come. FPOY, DPOY, NPOY, #1 Pick, NCAA MVP, National Champion and Gold Medalist all in the same year. Talent wise Wiggins may even be more prolific but he won't put together a season like that. I'm not sure anyone will for a long long time.

I agree with everything you said. Especially about putting together a single season like that. Since I've been following basketball, that's been the best single season I've ever witnessed.

Even if Wiggins put together a season better than Davis he won't be able to eclipse Davis cause he won't be winning a Gold Medal in the Olympics. Advantage: Davis.

AD was truly something to watch last year and it'll be fun to follow his NBA career.

  • Nobody really talks about it but was it the greatest year a college basketball player has ever had? I'm having trouble thinking of somebody who's had better. Maybe Christian Laettner, but was he the #1 pick and did he win Defensive player of the year honors? I can't think of anybody past that. Some of you older guys will have to chime in.

I'm not one of the older guys, but it's by far the best single season a collegiate basketball player has put together in my lifetime. The most interesting thing about it is that he wasn't completely dominant offensively. Though, he absolutely could have.

  • Don't want to start a polemic here. I must have misread the comment I responded to. I believe the point was talent, not accomplishment.. I love AD but everything I've read about Wiggins suggests that he is POTENTIALLY the next Lebron. That's why I posed it as a question. Nate's response was on target. The others ...

You'll have to ask Nate but I don't think he was referring to just talent alone.

You are exactly right about AD and Wiggins may not match what AD did on an individual basis but if he comes to UK and teams up with the rest of the class of 2013 that are already on their way then he will be a part of history. UK-40-0 and National Champions. Not too shabby.

bangheadHey tWhit, it may take all of BBN saying a prayer and having it answered for us to get Wiggins and go 40-0. I know I will include it in my prayers tonight.
