I thought Jon looked pretty good last night. He may have been a little nervous at first because of coming back from the injury but he seemed to be moving pretty well and I think this year Cal may have to dip 1 player deeper than he is used to doing because of the youth(even for UK)and foul trouble. I think this team may be a little more foul prone than past teams under Cal. Jon could provide some quality minutes if they are indeed foul prone.

I guess for some reason I thought he was a senior. Glad to hear he seems to be doing well. Do you anticipate he'll get any time this year, Matt?
I think he'll get his shots in the non-conference portion of the schedule to make his case for PT later in the year. At that point, he'll have to take advantage of those opportunities.

Yeah it would be great to see Hood perform well this year. He still has to finish at the rim, he didn't do that well at BBM and there was no defense at all. I think he has the tools, he just needs to use them.
He played very well last night. Had 17 points, 4 rebounds, team-high 5 assists and had at least one dunk. Was aggressive. Picked his spots. Didn't show any hesitation like he did in that past. It was a very good night for him.

I was encouraged by the way he played. He looked at first to be a bit careful but a few minutes into the game he loosened up and played like he wanted some useful minutes during the season and we could use him between 8+10 minutes a game if he proves like you said he can contribute in the non-conference games that he can keep up. The guy I was most impressed with was WCS, he looked pretty darn good on both ends of the court especially in the 1st half. I think he and others lost their legs during the 2nd half but with WCS and Noel swatting everything in sight from going in i sure hope Cal can figure a way to plat them together at least for a few minutes a game. Can you imagine what a couple of guys from the other team would be thinking when they have a break away and they see both Noel and WCS waiting for them.WOW
