No doubt this was a nit-picky call, but there are often 10+ call/no-calls that happen during a game that are questionable. I would have let this one go myself, but this call really had no bearing what-so-ever on the outcome of the game. So I didn't yell or get bothered by it much.
When it really gets me is when refs make the wrong call/no-calls when the game is on the line........for recent example at the end of the 'Cuse game there was one.

NCAA MEN’S AND WOMEN’S BASKETBALL RULES
APPENDIX III / OFFICIATING GUIDELINES
Section 3. Hanging/Grasping on the Ring
Players should not be permitted to hang on or grasp the basket ring in an
excessive, emphatic manner during dunks when there is no possibility of a
resulting injury occurring. The intent of the rule does not permit a player
to hold the ring and lift his or her body or legs, or in general, hang on or
grasp the ring for emphasis. This is especially true for a player who dunks
the ball on a breakaway or when no defender is nearby. Injuries, sometimes
serious, can occur as a result of grasping/hanging on the ring. Game delays
also result when damaged equipment must be fixed or replaced. When there
is no obvious injury circumstance to be avoided by grasping/hanging on the
ring, doing so in an emphatic matter is a (men) CLASS B and (women)
Player/Substitute technical foul.
A CLASS B technical foul is an infraction of the rules that neither involves contact
with an opponent nor causes contact with an opponent and falls below the
limit of an unsportsmanlike act.TheProfessor ●

Nothing confusing about that statement, but since I did not find it at the ncaa.org site, but on an official site, I simply wanted to confirm that who ever posted it had done so correctly. If it is a correctly posted statement, I understand the rule.
