This is for Poythress

  • I called Poythress out a couple weeks ago for playing like a scared little girl. I hope he reads this because I am personally proud of the way he stepped up tonight and played more like a man. Still needs to put a body on people for rebounds more often, but I was very pleased with his effort tonight. Oh yeah, I REALLY, REALLY liked the play where he went for the rebound, took a hard body shot, gathered himself, then throwed one down with some authority! Keep it up big guy!!

P.S. Guys please work on your free throws, your making my hair turn grey much faster than it should. LOL

  • Beast mode!

He and Goodwin played like I've expected them to all year! Love their effort and play tonight.

I understand where you are coming from b/c I have been critical of Poythress also but tonight may have been his coming out party but that remains to be seen. If he puts together a few games with #s near tonights #s then I will be a true believer. Kyle has made me a believer b/c of his past few games. I now think he will come out each game now and give this kind of effort.

After the game where he had his double double, he was with the media on the news, this kid is just a big kid. He addresses everything with manners and is polite. He seems alittle shy but all he wants is to play well. They ask him from one to ten how good did he feel about his game that night, and he said eleven. I liked that.

  • Thought the whole team played greatr Alex was very physical and it was awesome to see. I totally agree on FT they simple must make at least 65% I mean that isn't difficult to do

  • Second straight game Poythress has been a beast. Refreshing to see. Hopefully he's turned the corner.

  • The most refreshing thing about him is he looks to be having fun. The emotion he showed after that put back dunk was great.

Yep. Just looks like he's been liberated for one reason or another.

Dykes said something about his dad coming to a couple of practices and he pulled him to the side. Do you all know anything about that?

I must have missed that during the telecast. However it great seeing Alex play with this much emotion hopefully he keeps it up.

he turned the corner while back,

it didn't truly materialize till recently, but you can tell from a lot games back that he was trying.

I don't really believe in the concept of turning the corner too much. I seen it with UK, a lot of players goes through growing pain and adjustments. And later in the year it comes together...

usually having some solid pieces allows to adjust more friendlier or more comfortably, but they all go through it. Hell Darius Miller took basically 3 years of Coach Cal to get it.

This. I just wanna see him dunk and then a big smile come across his face. He's not a real rah rah type of guy but you can tell he's got a unique sense of humor. It would be okay to smile real big after a best mode play. Actually if would be super cool. I don't care what he does honestly as long as he keeps this level of play up but I agree he did look like he was having fun the last couple of game which is very nice to see.

  • When they make the NCAA 2013 Basketball Game for Playstation.....they should have a "Beast Mode" for Poythress. But you can't use it until 20 games into the season.....

  • His Turbo only lasts for so long.
