Timmons

  • How far off would it be if you compared Thomas and Timmons to Florida's combo of rainey and demos?

To be fair, Rainey and Demps had/have more speed than Timmons and Thomas. However, Timmons and Thomas are bigger than the Florida twosome were coming out of high school, especially Timmons.

  • Just roflmao at this entire thread. If I had $5 for every recruiting thread that was verbatim of this one over the last 10 or 12 years (with pretty much the same guys saying the same things), my wife and I would be figuring out which estate to buy on Seventeen Mile Drive on Carmel Bay.

I sure would like to have a winning season in SEC play some time before I die though, no matter where the players come from.

If you had all that money would donate some of it to help get a recruiting room.
Sorry couldn't help it. But I agree 100% with ur last statement I dont care where thier from just win

Per update on Rivals, Timmons quoted as saying that Arkansas "is in the lead". Sounds like Joker has a little ground to make up if UK is going to sign Timmons. Let's hope the 'Cats can show Timmons enough to sway him.

Disappointing!! Kid goes to visit Arkansas. The Arkansas staff has to know he's coming. And, no one is there to meet Timmons and show him around. Yet, they're in the lead? Jeez. I know Timmons is a great athlete, by KY standards, but should Joker step up his efforts of shift his efforts to other prospects?

My guess is Timmons realized he visited on one of the weekends sandwiching the fourth of July. Not trying to take up for the Arkansas staff but rather point out that a similar thing occurred a year or two ago with a big recruit visiting Kentucky, IIRC. I can't recall the recruit's name, though.

Cant get his name up either, but he was a saftie from a power house school in Fla. maybe Tyler or something like that.

Regardless, Timmons appears to be another KY kid looking to play anywhere but UK. Maybe Joker makes one more big push, but it's about time to move on.

I agree he APPEARS (to us fans) to be another KY kid looking to play anywhere but UK, but I don't think its time to throw in the towel. He has made an effort to go to UK a lot more than reported. I think we fight like hell to prevent him from committing to anyone else until he takes his official visit to UK. Then we need to pull out all the stops on his visit; I'm talking red carpet, VIP treatment, including Keeneland, hookers, cars, parties, whatever he wants. J/K, by the way.....slightly.

The diary of the dog and cat is hysterical. Probably about 100% accurate.

If he's really worth that then I say do anything and everything you can to get him to suit up in the blue and white.

Read on another site (BBK) that Timmons is visiting Arkansas this week and there is a possibility that he may verbal to them. If Timmons goes to Ark & with Bivens to ND, it doesn't look good for UK this year in regards to in-state recruiting especially when the Trinity kids aren't giving UK a look. To be successful, UK has to get the majority of the in-state kids especially the ones outside of Louisville. To lose a kid like Timmons from your backyard to Ark (if that happens) would be a big blow to Joker and his recruiting efforts in-state. Especially when you consider no one even knows who the head coach at Arkansas will be in 2013.

Paul Petrino will be interim HC for ARK. But I agree...I like Timmons much more so than James Quick...Timmons is a better athlete and much faster. I've heard hes a 4.32 guy..and even heard rumore of sub 4.3 40 speed runs..but no real confirms...I think we need to show guys like Jeffrey Canady more love...Dennis Oxendine...and out of the trinity kids..I think Dayln dawkins is the best...kid has insane acceleration and runs hard for 5'9 180. Can play slot wr easy. Quick has a world of talent..but he takes plays off and will go down easy sometimes. You cant coach heart...ala Randall Cobb, and I rather take a shot at a kid that wants to be here than one that dosent really bleed blue. I agree with JD....Florida Georgia, even Bama and S.Carolina are much more important than the 6 or so (on average) kids KY puts out yearly that have SEC talent. With Charlie Strong at L'Ville...we arent gonna get many kids there..CS is a big time recruiter...and it hurts more to lose kids like Lamar Dawson and Timmons than the vill kids.

If UK could get 6 SEC grade players out of the state of Kentucky every year that would be big. 5 classes of 6 is 30 players. Most years however UK doesnt get 6 in state players. This year there is probally 6 or more SEC grade recruits in the state and that is why it is such a shame that it appears that UK is not going to get many of them.
I also am one that thinks that Canady should get an offer. The Kid is a good athlete and he can play multiple positions.
