  • Pretty interesting list and I would have never expected who was at the #1 spot. UK higher than Bama or Ark? Im kinda surprised by that.

  • that really sad, our AD that says we cant raise money but is one of highest paid AD in the SEC and country, and due to a good ole boy deal that Todd gave him he almost untouchable.

  • Well take a look at UL they are 3rd in the NATION and even though they beat us this year. What do they have to show for it the last several years?

  • I was thinking the same exact thing. No way in hell Jurich is worth near $1.5 million. I'm not as upset over Mitch's as some seem to be. But Jurich's is laughable, UL is getting raped by him.

  • I disagree with your thoughts on Jurich. I think he is worth it based just on his ability to get things done. Look at the facilities.

  • So you think because of that he is worth the 3rd largest paycheck? Sorry but ultimately an AD should be graded largely on performance with other things like upgrades being taken into consideration. Whether some agree or not our teams under Mitch have improved Louisville cant say the same.

  • Jurich is overpaid. Looks like we have a bargain with Mitch to me. He gets paid less than half of what Vandy, UF, and UL are paying their AD's...

    Why on earth is Vandy of all schools paying their AD so much money? WOW!

  • Come on guys take the hate out of it. I hate UL too but take a real look.
    Facilities- Besides Craft Center and the dorms, name another that UK is better.
    Sports- While I agree UK has improved in sports, so has UL. Hell they beat UK in the Directors Cup again last year.
    Fundraising- I dont care how Jurich is doing it but he is getting it done. Just about every UL sport is playing in new facilities.

  • Why in the hell is Vandy paying its AD $2.6 million/year? That is ridiculous. And, I thought Vandy disbanded its athletic department.

  • When it comes to Loserville I never take out the hate. haha. I will give you Fundraising. Also I will take CWS over the Pizza oven any day. They just had their 3rd largest crowd ever when they played Marshall 53000. I could by a Lambourghini hotwheel that doesnt make it a Lambo. Meaning I can build something nice and small and it gets the job done but doesnt make it better. CWS could be a great stadium with some touchups and actual thought put into it. This is where Jurich wins in the Fundraising.

  • Its hard to take out the hate. I had to drive by the UL sports complex yesterday. I had a lot of time to look at it thanks to the bridge traffic. I can't lie. It looks very nice.
    I love CWS. The boards installed this year helped. I dont care about having bench seats because I dont sit enough to care. I guess I'm really talking about baseball, softball, and those sports.

    Jurich -- imo -- has a little easier sell, even though he has done a great job of selling because he has Brown Forman, Papa John's, People's Bank, and UPS all in the same home town. He's taken advantage of it, but I'm not sure other schools, including UK have that same type of 'committment' that Jurich has been able to procure. It was all there for him to take advantage of imo.

    Sorry, but if you look at where UL was and where they have come under Jurich, he deserves every penney he gets and more. They have practially all new facilities in every sport since his hiring. Other than Kragthorpe (too early to tell about Charlie), his hires in the major sports have been solid.

  • While he has made some decent hires and they have done well with facilities do you honestly think he is the best AD in America? The best should be paid the most. I have a hard time believing that Jurich is the best.

    This. Mitch has done well on the hires, not so much on fundraising.
    What ever happened to the fundraising attempt that was spawned on this site? People were willing to donate as long as it was used for the FB program.

    And the school pumps in money every year to subsidize....over $8 mil last year.

  • Jurich is a pompous prick. BUT. Without the vision, leadership, and FUNDRAISING of Jurich, UL would be in the same spot as Memphis or a UAB. He has raised their profile to the point that they will be a top target for the Big 12. Without Jurich, UL would have nothing.

    Ask yourself this- where would UL be if Barnhart had been at UL instead of Jurich? From a fundraising and facility standpoint, I think they'd be YEARS behind where they are today.
